  • So, there's a difference between sound absorption and soundproofing. Curtains and foam panels can do wonders for making your room sound better acoustically but won't do much to lower the amount of sound getting out. The only way to actually soundproof is either by adding a bunch of mass (bricks/concrete blocks/mass loaded vinyl) or by creating air gaps (or some combination of the two). Conflating soundproofing and sound absorption is very common but they are different. . Paper egg cartons will do little to nothing for either sound absorption or soundproofing; this myth comes from old style sound absorption foam tiles that kinda looked like egg cartons and were therefore referred to as such.

You're absolutely right about sealing door gaps helping though.

  • Or just leave them. Leaves are good, people. If you can, leave your leaves.

  • Probably a reference to JFK Jr wanting the polio vaccine to be banned

  • There are many companies right now exploiting employing contract workers to rate chatbot responses in order to improve the models. I have first hand experience with this work and let me tell you it's...a complete fucking shitshow. I can't imagine they're getting much good data from it but they are absolutely throwing money at the problem hand over fist.

  • I just met him but I love him

  • Except for they didn't avoid it. They knew it was happening weeks in advance and didn't do shit to stop it. Just because franchise owners have a bit of autonomy does NOT mean corporate won't bring the hammer down if they think something will tarnish the brand.

  • Great watch, hopefully they make more of this type of content!

  • Won't disagree with you there, I was just explaining why he's put on such a pedestal. It's not uncommon for the most well known people in an art to not be the absolute most talented people doing it; unfortunately talent alone almost never brings people success.

  • I mean Seinfeld was fucking huge. It's hard to overstate how big a hit it was in its time. And he was co-creator, the lead role, and obv his name is the name of the show. How could you not see people putting him up as one of the greats?

I'm not personally the biggest fan of his particular style of comedy, and you can certainly find issue with his personality and behavior over the years, but the man knows how joke structure works. He's an expert in his craft. And you may not think he's as good as some of his contemporaries, but there's no denying he's more of a household name than most if not all of them.

  • I don't disagree with your overall point, but statistics like that are almost always heavily skewed because of high infant mortality rates

  • Which is exactly why I called my local election office, and I even mentioned it might have been because of the rain we were having, but I was told no, it wasnt the damp that caused it because they had confirmed with the factory that sent the ballots out that some had been sent out like that. They then told me to tape it and when I was hesitant because I had the same thought as you they told me they had checked several times with the registrar that taping them up was what to do. They said it was a known issue so it would be accepted.

  • A lot of the virginia ballots were mailed out with the return envelopes already sealed up. I called the election office and they said to cut them open and just seal them back with tape 🤣

Edit: to all the folks concerned about my vote, thank you for your concern. I'm not too worried about it for several reasons. You can check online to see when your ballot is received and accepted, so I'll be doing that. If it isn't accepted in the next week or so I'll definitely be making some calls. Worse comes to worse, I can always go to my polling place on the day and get a provisional ballot in case something happens to my mail-in. I live in a pretty blue area so I have some trust in the local offices here; they've given no reason for me to be suspicious. Nonetheless I'll still be double checking.

  • That's very true and i figured I'd get downvoted for asking, it's just this election has me so nervous because it's still such a toss up and people equate any (even perceived) economic downturn as being the fault of the current administration. I just wanted to know if anyone here had any more insight on the dude.

At the end of the day it's all about the workers and i don't mind suffering small inconveniences if it gets the wiring class better lives.

  • Is this the same strike where the union leader is like friends with Trump? I've been feeling weird since I heard that because I'm all about workers striking but it seems like it might also be designed timing wise to make biden/harris look bad for the economy right before the election?

  • He definitely wears lifts too

  • The complaints i read on another thread was that it never stops holding your hand, like telling you how to complete puzzles before you even get a chanve to try
