  • Mine literally got upset that she wasn't seeing/able to click on the sponsored google results...

  • Today should have been easy for them tbh. "See? That's why you should pay us more money to have active infra on our other regions to failover to!"

  • Tbf, phones needlessly obscures file storage. Like why do I have to have a specific third party app just to have the normal file management functionality

  • Handbrake

  • Not that it seems to matter to them, but I'm pretty sure warrantless tracking via cell signal has been expressly deemed illegal by the courts.

  • I take issue with the idea presented here that this type of "AI" will get better. The only thing it will get better at is getting better at ticking people into thinking there's any type of actual understanding going on inside an LLM. It's not like it's some kink in the model that will eventually be worked out with time. It's inherent in the design of the way these things work. The only thing i could possibly see getting better in the future is once this obvious bubble pops, people might start actually trying to figure out realistic use-cases for LLMs rather than just trying to shove it into any and every facet of daily work and life because shareholders/investors have chubs for new shiny expensive tech.

  • I disagree about education being about memorization. Education is about knowledge being imparted. Testing is often about memorization, although I'd argue that's usually only with poorly designed tests. To me, a good education is also a lot about teaching critical thinking skills.

  • Does this count the number of "available jobs" that companies aren't actually looking to fill?

  • I have not yet. Definitely will try if i see it, although I don't typically go for the chicken flavors

  • Shin black is so far above everything else it's almost embarrassing. Only other ramen thay I sometimes crave is the Nissin black garlic tonkatsu.

  • He's a total charisma void imo, and I definitely despise him in leading roles, but he's ok when he isn't the main focus. Like i think he was pretty great for the character in Hurt Locker because he was able to just be a total straight man for Renner to bounce his fucked up trauma off of.

  • If you're interested in hearing just how full of shit Graham Hancock is, Miniminuteman on YouTube is a great watch.

  • I've played enough league to know you would have to do this for months to actually pick up a ban

  • Oh gotcha. Sorry I'm not the most familiar with the chess world.

  • I mean, easy fix there right? Just have a women's tournament and an everybody tournament. Women can then choose which to enter.

  • Well it also could be because waymo is owned by Alphabet (Google's parent company) and the side against ICE is also going to be generally against megacorps that are actively trying to sprint towards technofacism. But honestly I doubt that much thought went in to it. People are angry for a million different reasons in this country right now, and at a protest like this that is spontaneous (as opposed to organized/planned) that anger is bound to manifest in ways that aren't always the most productive to the cause. That's just human nature imo. Emotions aren't always rational. And sure, it's definitely possible this was an opportunist just looking for an excuse to be destructive, or even planted fed agitators like others have said, but if you ask me it's just as likely it's just some pissed off people who are just saying to themselves "fuck it, the government wants to fuck our shit up? Well then i guess we can fuck shit up too."

Editing to add: It can be hard to put yourself in their shoes if you've never been to a protest that got a little ugly, because you might imagine yourself in the same state of mind you are in as you're just like sitting at home or wherever reading this thread. But likely these fire starters have also already been tear gassed, shoved around by cops, corraled like animals, flashbanged, had rubber bullets shot at them, and all after watching fascist federal agents come in to their community and effectively dissappear people who are some of the most vulnerable among them. Maybe even close friends or family. It's honestly surprising how many are still able to maintain their cool enough to be peaceful after suffering all of that.

  • Well they took them to Israel first but yea i agree

  • I'm not positive, but i believe the majority of their support team was in Paris so I'd guess that's why. Apparently they were given a choice between deportation and a trial and some of them basically had to be convinced to choose deportation so they could speak about their experiences.

  • Calling it now, invest everything you have, that image is gong to become a meme
