three goblins in a trench coat

  • Body hair is deeply stigmatized. Bodies and bodily functions are stigmatized.

It's the same reason why sanitary pad commercials use clear blue liquid for absorptive demonstrations and not body temperature strawberry preserves. Or heaven forfend actual uterine lining....

Smiling happy women reclining in a bath, shaving off foam to reveal glossy perfect legs, is shorthand for the reality of what actually happens.

  • It's based on a comic series, so the bones are good and the critics are all weenies. I ♡ crappy derivative action schlock.

  • Priest. I recommended it in a terrible movies thread. It's Paul Bettany and Karl Urban in a cowboy/ronin/faith-based militia versus vampires film. Critics gave it 16% fresh.

    ...... seriously. Look at this.

  • Tldr/explain like I'm high- the earth is a lava lamp, and we live on the cold wax floating at the top.

  • I worked on Mass Ave when that all went down. It was vaguely hilarious for a couple of days while the cops and feds got mad about a Lite Brite.

  • Happy Tuesday y'all!

  • You've made a point, but I'm not sure you're making the right point in the right community.

In the past day, eighteen posts were made.

The three objectionable ones, which I'm assuming were The Killing of Alex Pretti, the List of Shootings by US Immigration agents in the second Trump presidency, and Abolish ICE, are three separate but related topics directly targeting insane abuses of power brought around by the current regime.

    3/18= 17%

Add in a few other US leaning and political posts (including the Little Eichmanns post that I'm offended that you're not including in your screed), and it's a quarter of the posts, from a bad day for America.

The other wiki communities share the message as well- !wikipedia@lemmy.ml and !wikipedia@sh.itjust.works are also hosting the same top three Objectionable Topics, which might add to your sense of overwhelm.

I won't pull down valid submissions for the same reason I don't give you a 24 hour ban when you get trolly and obstinate in the comments. I want people to see, and make up their own minds.

  • Surely it would be simpler if moderators just tried to get up the courage to moderate.

    Explain.

You have the entirety of the rules at your disposal. What rule has anyone broken, that I have personally neglected out of cowardice.

  • Silicone Trump with a lightly furred gunt is enough of a jump scare that I deemed it appropriately NSFW.

  • Nah.

  • Sidebar doesn't say anything about geographic restrictions.

    1. Check the sidebar for formatting rules before posting
    2. All posts need a Wikipedia link
