  • “If you really care about the nutrition piece of making people healthy, can we talk about how there are not enough grocery stores within walking distance for individuals? Can we talk about the high price of vegetables and eggs?” Plata-Nino said. “If you really care about this issue, look at the systemic root causes.”

    That’s socialism.

  • I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. I have some “voted Trump the first time, but not the second” relatives that have a lot of the same ideals as me without the knowledge or level of class consciousness. I have no answers but look forward to reading the responses.

  • “I can’t believe how we have to explain to men how painful it is to be hit in the private area,” Hagood countered.

  • Do you or your kid throw surprise farties for your wife?

  • That’s a more difficult one as I don’t know what’s happening at all the state levels. I suspect there was already election tampering in the last election, and I believe that will be even easier now. There is also the factor of, as you said, more stringent laws regarding voting that will push out some people (and many more POCs will be disenfranchised than ever before), but I don’t know how many people that will affect. Then there’s the looming possibility that Trump will effectively stop elections by invoking martial law or something similar, because of things like mass demonstrations (I am feeling a bit more hopeful that this will happen, but not betting on it).

Overall I’m not confident enough that I understand all the facts to give a real percentage chance, and I think it also depends on how much the administration believes an election can harm them. What do you think?

  • Fascism has good reason to shut down free and fair elections. My prediction is based on if elections do occur.

  • 85%-90% because red states aren’t going to flip anything, and I don’t think there are enough flippable seats to make a difference. I would be surprised, and even if they do get a razor thin majority, what will they do under a Trump presidency? They will claim, same as they do now, that there’s nothing they can do.

  • Even people at protests are talking about “getting everything back in 2026” like there’s going to be elections by then. It would be cute if it wasn’t so sad.

  • This isn’t really how 14 year olds text, right?

  • Day 46 - ball of fluff, but the face feathers are round perfection.

  • I am now envisioning a Chad type, just standing there looking all grizzled and stoic when, just like a chinchilla, he just drops and rolls.

  • Yeah, thank her but not by name and airline. If she just said what she said without that and Melissa saw it, I’m sure she would know it’s for her.

  • TIL in Zoroastrianism, otters > dogs:

In the Vendidad, it is stated that the spirits of a thousand deceased dogs are reincarnated in a single otter (“water dog”)

  • I can see by the way you’re pussyfooting around this, you’re just racist.

  • but these power tripping fascists will think twice about oppressing a well armed proletariat or feel the wrath a caring community can unleash. Remember these agents are not state level authorities, they're federal.

And some state government agencies are already fighting back. But, as always, the people have to demand it. Its easy to to kowtow to the wims of the fascist government- just look at a vast majority of the dems in congress- but if you demand this at the state, county, and city level, they are more likely to listen.

And yes, it is your right in most open carry states to stand with a gun on you near a law enforcement officer who is in the process of their duty, as long as the officer does not perceive you as “interfering with their duty”. You could even record them in many states.

  • What exactly makes you say that?
