There is a rare earth that is important: bismuth. The US's companies need it to build AI datacenters. At least, last I heard. This is my source but I admit I'm largely going off memory because I'm busy these days.
This might not be true. Trump actually got Israel to temporarily slow down at least at one point. Ineffective but more than Biden ever did. More importantly, his economic wars against China caused the US to be denied the means of manufacturing weapons.
It may have slightly contributed to the reelection of Trump, guaranteeing that the US will put no diplomatic pressure on Netanyahu for at least four years
Oh please. Why do you think the Democrats would care about pressuring Netenyahu? They never did. They have historically been the more militant party. It's not in their interests to impede Netenyahu. Trump has actually done more on this already, I'd say.
And making protests against Israel both much riskier and less effective.
Less effective than zero?
Trump is also, incidentally, a menace to me and basically everyone I care about.
That's a capitalist thing. It's far from unique to him. Yes, he emboldened the transphobic fascists I wasn't willing to make friends with anyway, but ICE deportations are actually less under Trump than under Biden. When Democrats menace those I care about, it's much less likely to make the news. Meanwhile Trump, in his incompetence, is helping to save the world from the US. Global southerners are being less menaced than before. I do not regret voting third party. After all, among the eligible voters, POC in the US overwhelmingly did not vote. Do you care about them? Would you vote for a menace to them?
Leftists are stinky
I'm a runner, I can't help that. Fight for better material conditions for us instead of voting for people that will make us homeless to fund imperialism abroad and maybe we'll smell better.
Bad when MLs do it instead of collective action, yes. For those of us able to organize or do mutual aid, things like that. Not possible for everyone, especially in a place as fragmented as the US. I do not blame this fellow for what he did, I blame the US for driving him to this, and I blame the US for whatever happens afterwards.
Is it because of school? I had a rural American education that gave me nightmares to this day. I don't blame people who don't want to send their kids to school but it still may be the least worst option.
Can you be more specific? The USSR had "universal military service" in its constitution and considering who their enemies were I don't fault them. Isn't that "forced conscription?" Or, maybe you could argue that these are different times. After all, China doesn't conscript but their tech is amazing.
I know that this manner of forced conscription is of an entirely different nature than what Ukraine does, or what Nazi Germany did, where people ended up arming children in desperation near the end of their reign.
