I'm kinda surprised homemade mac is that much more expensive. Red bell pepper is a lot more than green at least where I am though. Anyway, your homemade recipe looks delicious. 50x the flavor of boxed mac in my opinion.
Just curious, I bet it was really filling on its own without the need of anything else. Once again, awesome presentation. Makes me crave some, and I've never had it before haha 👌
I've been wanting to try a pumpkin soup for a while. Awesome presentation skills, by the way. Did you pair it with anything like some fresh bread? Maybe a salad?
Personally I love some cabbage and sausage cooked up in a nice fresh chicken broth. But I definitely can see where the smell would be a turn off for a lot of people 🤣
The first person to think "hmm couple drops of this fish sauce in what I'm cookin might be good" had to be a little crazy. They were 100% right though lol.
Lack of butter tbh. Needed more seasonings too. At least some more pepper. Meh, it was still decent, not the best mash for sure. Hunger makes anything taste good lol.
Yep just steamed and salted/peppered. Should've put some butter/olive oil, more pepper, and maybe a little lemon and garlic on the veg. And definitely more butter in the potatoes. I think lack of butter is why the potatoes look kinda bland. Really it just came down to laziness 'cus I was so hungry I couldn't wait haha.
I vote chilli as well. Just made a batch with ground turkey a couple days ago. Cheap, relatively nutritious, and tastes pretty good imo.
