  • They have some obligations in cases of child endangerment or suicide, direct threats to others. I'm not sure of the details, if it's similar expectations or what.

  • It's not like the pope or the catholic leadership is encouraging pedophiles. They've covered things up that happened, but it's pretty wild to act like it's some kind of pedo ring.

  • By straight numbers I'm sure that's the case, but i doubt its true by percentage. But to be honest I'm not sure if the study included parents.

  • This is obviously way better, come on. Why involve middle men in something like this? Add more layers and it becomes less efficient. Less of the money goes to helping people and it gets spread around to different agencies, or even worse goes to government contractors who can charge ridiculous rates because they know someone and didn't have to compete for the contract. I worked at a place once where we got a couple hundred thousand dollars for a useless study because if the money didn't get used it would make their budget smaller for next year. That kind of thing happens all the time.

  • Teaching has the most pedophiles, followed by music tutor, and priests/clerics are 3rd.

  • Therapists are allowed to maintain confidentiality.

  • Seems reasonable

  • That only applies if you are the objective truth. If you are wrong, then it's just another tool for bigotry, an excuse to ignore other opinions.

  • Yeah you are right. There have been a couple others, but quite a few attempts to ban various parties. I don't quite understand the system and it's possible that banning a party there isn't near as big of a deal as it seems to me. If a party were banned in the united states, it would be very alarming. I think the only party ever banned was the communist party in 1950s, but even that is no longer really in effect.

  • No the court labeled afd as "confirmed right wing extremist" and someone else decided that that meant they couldn't participate.

  • Who gets to decide who is a fascist and therefore doesn't deserve to participate in democracy? What is the criteria for not deserving a voice? How do you define fascist? Maybe I'm cynical, but if you can eliminate popular political opposition by branding them as something, that's a lot of motivation to brand them.

  • There will always be people on the fringes of political representation, regardless of what politics and policy looks like at that time and in that place. Sacrificing personal relationships is a huge personal sacrifice for a team who claims to better represent your interests, particularly when that might not even be true. Politicians think nothing of using your own anger to gather power for themselves. Your discontent and misery is a tool for them. I'm not saying you shouldn't be involved, but be careful how far you are willing to go because it will ultimately make you less happy to pursue things that are largely outside your control, especially if that also includes huge sacrifices.

  • There's only one political party in German history who banned other political parties. Just because you call a different party a fascist, doesn't mean you get a pass to act like a fascist.

  • Only if you have complications.

  • None of the developed countries have a replacement birth rate. Higher quality of life has lead to lower birth rate in all cases.

  • Yeah they need to hear it too. Which political party is vote for is pretty far down the list of how i see myself. It's not important to my identity.

  • How would you define MAGA? How do you know if someone is MAGA?

  • I think it's more important to get along with the people I talk to and interact with every day, than to go to bat for my political team. You should too.

  • Yeah it's not really true anymore, at least in developed countries, but it should be true. People would be a whole lot happier if they got along with and trusted their family.
