No, I genuinely don't believe it will. I don't think the human race will ever reach another star, though I do believe it could be possible if we avoided going extinct for a few thousand years.
Another galaxy? No chance, not unless we figure out FTL, which I don't believe is likely. The only FTL I've heard of that might be possible is the Alcubierre drive, but it relies on things that are so exotic, it's likely impossible to create one.

The whole point of these people is to manage things. They are failing to do the only thing they exist to do. There is obviously a fundamental flaw in this system.

I suspect it has to do with what their primary activities are. Perhaps they're spending less time in groups and more time isolated, communicating digitally.
I'm not sure how much of this is accurate, but I have to agree it's been a bane to humankind. Maybe, just maybe, we should learn to stop, pull our heads out of our asses and think very carefully about potential consequences before we do things.
