  • Don’t worry guys, in three years we’ll have a New Yorker with an even more exotic sounding name campaign to the left of whatever fossil is governor and win a huge upset victory! And then THEY’LL be the one invoking the Monroe Doctrine!

  • Goes to show you cannot ever work hard enough to please capitalists and their lackeys. We could all work 72 hour weeks and they would still find ways to say no one wants to work anymore.

  • Hey, this has happened before!

  • I was not paying attention lol, I didn’t realize that was you. I’ve been there too.

  • Very sad to see someone backpedal from a based comment

  • “How could the Germans have done all that?” Like this: dehumanize, dehumanize, dehumanize, and eventually they deserve it, and if you empathize with the victims you also deserve it, and so on.

  • Maybe try to explain that antisemitic attitudes rhetorically benefit the Zionist project and bolster the justification for the existence of a Jewish ethnostate, and that Zionists provoke antisemitic behavior and language for this exact reason.

  • If the guns and missiles were papier-mâché we would have already invaded them.

  • “The real issue is that true capitalism has never been tried.”

  • Oops, we “supported” the wrong pro genocide candidate.

I do like the idea of approaching starving children in Gaza and asking them to weigh in on American politics. I imagine most would respond “please elect someone who will make us stop dying.” Too bad Kamala doesn’t fit the bill.

  • Counterpoint: people on that flotilla are public figures and also white. However bad Israel’s PR is right now, it’s getting worse if they kill Greta and her entourage.

I know it’s tempting to say that public/international opinion of Zionism is irrelevant, but the zionists themselves don’t seem to think so. Why bother with damage control otherwise?

  • How many Jewish Poles in 1936 tolerated gay and trans people? How many of them deserved the gas chambers?

  • Most arguments are only designed to persuade oneself. And who wants to grapple with the cruelty of meat?

I used to be a vegetarian. I went years without eating any meat whatsoever, and did so on moral grounds. I caved, and the reasons were not any of the typical excuses offered by carnists. Simply put, not eating meat alienated me from others. I was made to conceive of them as villainous by my abstention from that same evil. I still don’t think it’s right to kill animals for meat, but I eat chicken just so I don’t have to deal with thinking of my coworkers and friends as bad people for also doing so.

Not sure if that gives any insight, but maybe it will.

  • I’m not gonna pretend that Chuck dying won’t accelerate our decline into martial law, but I’m not gonna pretend to be sad about it. He’s not Jesus and he’s not MLK.

I also get suspicious of people who make noise about fighting the power and being super radical while parroting mainstream fash talking points and pearl-clutching liberal hysteria. Enough people are telling us to be sad/angry over whiteboy podcaster #92 getting merced that we don’t need to bother saying it with them. Just let us have this win.

  • Lots of people chose death over working with Nazis! Stalin had no excuse!

Maybe under the broadest possible definition of "working with the Nazis" (i.e., having any diplomatic relations whatsoever) it is true that Stalin was a "collaborator," but that would render the definition so broad as to be meaningless. Was Chamberlain a Nazi collaborator? We all know the answer is yes, but this person wouldn't say so. They definitely wouldn't say all the people who died during the Blitz deserved it.

Also, maybe a French teenager can show heroism by choosing death over surrendering her comrades to the Gestapo, but Stalin is in no such position. It's not like he can personally surrender to save his countrymen. Doing so would actually doom them. He was the leader of the Soviet people, not a single resistance fighter. Bad analogy.

  • Whatever dementia issues Joe Biden may have, there is no denying that his staff was superb at managing them and protecting both Biden and the country.

Oh, there is absolutely some denying it…

  • Oops

  • All the rich white people I’ve met are too busy rationalizing their own privilege and explaining away others’ resentment of them to even think about fighting the power or dismantling capitalism.

    Edit: changed “rice” to “rich.”

  • I would read fanfiction of private Pyle on the lam, just saying.
