  • Thanks for the long reply.

Did not know the radio function existed. On mobile at least I can't find it on the artists page? I have to go into the ... Menu on a track in a playlist?

I listen to a lot of instrumental stuff while working, so I may be going too indy? Someone like soundcriters should should have something on their page?

I dislike that you have to go to a playlists page to play it in shuffle, you can't do it from the playlists menu.

Double clicking should play a track but doesn't.

  • They don't have any other recommendations apart from those human made ones though? Couldn't find what I wanted.

The UI is awful and their artist pages are normally blank for indy artists.

The migration is pretty seamless though, and they apparently pay their artists way better.

  • It has some level of additional security I think? some remote access apps have issues with them.

  • Don't you just take mon- Fri as 6 separate holidays?

  • Why can't combined air to water&air systems exist?

I guess the difficulty is heating the water and cooling the air at the same time? Would require two independent loops?

  • Unpopular opinion (here anyway):

Google timeline is really useful! Let's you know where you where when you need to know. Have used it, or told people to use it multiple times when someone needs to know when/how long they have been out of the country, or when they moved house etc.

They made a change recently so that it's all local or something? Not sure how that works.

Having home, work and other key locations set in Google maps is also..... Really useful.

  • It's windows + : for me?

  • The 'product' in this case isn't the website, it's the data.

Are you willing to spend days/months researching things and gathering data? For it to be useful, you have to be doing more than just repeat marketing data.

If your going to do it, do the research first, find a cool way of displaying it, then see if anyone is interested. If they are, consider making the platform.

  • I switched to it. Not bad, but it's music discovery is awful compared to Spotify.

Do any of the platforms have an 'instumental' tag for music? Feels like it should be a basic feature....

  • The idea is that while it punishes the citizens of the country doing the tariffs, it makes their local industry more competitive in the country. This can be used fairly or unfairly.

Take steel for example. Most countries consider it a strategic resource, the want/need to be producing it to guarantee a supply in case of war, supply issues etc. Another country might be able to sell it cheaper, but you want to ensure your country still produces it; put a tariff on it, so foreign steel costs as much as the local stuff, keeping them in business.

Europe put a tariff on Chinese cars, because China was subsidising their companies so they could flood Europe with unfairly cheap cars. (Although local companies dropped the ball too)

Trumps tariffs won't work as no one trusts that they will remain - he changes them on a whim, so no one can build out manufacturing to take advantage of them.

  • It's a shame they never made a second one, I remember it being pretty good.

All games were good when I was that age though....

  • You don't have an open banking requirement for banks?

  • Huh, they originate from central America. TIL

  • What vital work do they do, other than feeding birds?

    Eating my beans definitely isn't!

  • Two independent cloud storage providers is pretty good?

  • *because it caused a landslide.

  • I can't leave the battery in my power meter through the winter, because it freezes and explodes.

With these, I assume you now have 4 damn batteries running out at different times that need replacing. Are they rechargeable at least?

  • I assume because the most expensive plan is what all the power users have?

  • Also not good if you get RSI, damn that game destroys fingers.

  • I have a fun budget. A % of my monthly surplus goes I to it, and everything (excluding food) that I want rather than need come out of that pot.

I then have no guilt over spending my fun money, unless I think I could have more fun using it for something else.
