Step out of the kitchen for a few mins before eating, a lot of flavour is the smell and acclimatise to it as you cook.

71·1 day agoEveryone is talking about how bad gopros are? My 11 has been fine. Only overheated once on a hot day. My only other complaint is that occasionally the stabilisation doesn’t work.
Their cloud storage is completely shit though, didn’t use it even when I had it for free.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How were maps created back in the day?English
14·2 days agoEverything was/is mapped with trigonometry. You map the big triangles first, then once you have some nice big markers at known distances in the hills around you you can just measure angles to work out where you are. Repeat that lots and you can record the exact location of everything.

We use mimecast, so all links in emails are replaced with links through mimecast for them to check.
That means you can’t see the original link easily though… So makes it harder to check if they are iffy.
All of ours have phishing in the URLs or in the email headers, if only real phishers were so nice!

10·6 days agoWorkouts this week being 0 doesn’t mean that the data isn’t there, it’s just giving you a summary for the ‘calendar’ week.
You should be able to find the activity still. You should also be able to change when the start of the week is. (It’s an option you see everywhere)

The tech is good, it’s how business has been built around it that’s the problem I think.
Ore accurate prices of open weight models would have softened the rush.
The copyright issues would be less if everything was open weight.
Limited to approved tools at work.
Need to set up local models on my server for personal stuff.
The opus models are the first models I can work with day to day and not rage at them.
But, at their true cost, it’s not worth it 90% of the time. Next month with the GitHub copilot changes is going to be a bloodbath.

2·9 days agoIt’s an auction of a commodity, you have to keep paying more until you find someone to provide the last bit. Everyone then gets paid close to that.
The big profits are going to those that invested in renewable energy to be fair though, not to the fossil fuel companies.

I assume there are companies that handle that for you and effectively subcontract. They should be set up to handle this case?
