  • It isn’t. And I hope it will never be. Communities only ever work till they reach a certain size. If Lemmy reaches a certain threshold, it will become the shit hole reddit can be (when it comes to the community. There is also so much less variety then at reddit. I’m not missing anything here, but there are many things that are only discussed at reddit. So I’m glad that Lemmy exist for me and I’m glad reddit exist for those that don’t care.

Yeah, teaching children about that AI exists, what it does and doesn’t is the same as raising a child as a nazi. What are you on about? Of course teaching about the cruelties of the nazis is crucial to prevent it from happening again.

Or are you saying this guy is an ai? And raising their children as ai? Nazis believing their children should become a nazi doesn’t mean the rest of society should not know and be thought about national socialism.

Fuck AI, but knowing about it is key to defeating it. Misinformation will not help destroy it.

  • Well, to play devil’s advocate: Confronting children with AI early on prepares them for what’s to come. If he teaches about the dangers, the advantages and disadvantages it’s good to do so early on so the kids can understand what they are dealing with. They will be exposed to it anyway so it’s good to talk and learn about it.

That being said: I don’t think this is what he meant by that.
