  • Nah, the Genocide in Gaza largely didn't motivate me. Otherwise I wouldn't have helped Joe Biden in 2020 by voting third party but instead I would have helped Joe Biden in 2020 by voting for him directly. I simply think Gaza was a good litmus test that helped stop a lot of other people from making the decision to actively support genocide. -Which is a pretty good reason. Just not mine. My case is this, Harris is and always was a terrible establishment-candidate.

  • Project much?

  • I completely agree.

  • "In a post on X earlier in the morning, Walz asked Minnesotans to remain calm and said his team is working to gather information on the shooting.

Walz held a news conference later Wednesday afternoon with Minnesota DPS Commissioner Bob Jacobson, announcing he had placed the Minnesota National Guard on standby, saying, "soldiers are prepared to be deployed if necessary."

I thought Walz was everybody's friend? This doesn't seem very supportive of his former constituents.

  • I highly doubt they will.

  • Wont happen.

  • it made it easier for Joseph Biden to win? Do you have any metrics for how much change you've personally affected through protest and "advocating?" as my vote counted for ~1:153,000,000 (not counting for delegates and electoralism.)

Tangentially, in 2020 I watched people protest police and its abusive practices, then when the same people got a chance to vote for the Democrat, he responded by increasing support for police nationwide.

The other reason I ask (and my tangent only reinforces this idea) is because there's an infamous paper from Princeton in 2014 that suggests sitting politicians Don't care what you think. -Direct source to the paper cited

  • If money were removed from elections and secondarily if fptp and electoralism were ended...

Then basically every other problem would solve itself for the better.

furthermore If money isn't removed from elections then social unrest will worsen and intensify. -This alone will at minimum require the packing of the supreme court to get around Citizen United.

just a little history to know who your up against, The last senator to attempt to end electoralism was from my state. The last amendment he submitted on the matter was voted against by(among others) Joseph Biden.

  • same as you voting for this.

I guess by your definition i also voted for status-quo Joe Biden so i should pat myself on the back for saving democracy and voting third party.

  • Same as you feel i suppose.... and you're not going to gain any new supporters to your side by going around demonizing the people you think owe you something. -That's a good way to lose your next election.

  • I did and FPTP suggest the two most similar parties should merge... that is, unless the most similar party enjoys playing the controlled opposition. -In that case they might not merge but then supporting the opposition party continues to enable the party in power. So while it takes time for the Democrats and Republicans to merge, I'll be out here voting and advocating for real positive change.

  • "the active socialist position is to vote for..."

    ...The PSL.

  • I mean the initial party you mention already did enough shitty things and as a result they dumped water on the fire that was their own support setting the stage for a criminal, serial-adulterer, hate-monger to win the election for the second time. If the Democrat-candidate realized that nobody owes them anything and actually tried to earn the support of the voters, she'd probably be president now, but somehow she got into a contest of "who's the bigger narciscist" just like Hillary, and everybody lost except Trump, but that's only a small reason why I didn't vote for this deeply unpopular candidate. Regardless, if the democrat establishment can't figure this out, they will continue losing elections.

More to the point -if the elected official does not represent the will or desire of the people then what kind of Democracy(aka a 'representative democratic republic') can really exist?

  • I got halfway through and stopped reading. Your post is substanceless and only furthers to stroke someones ego. Also, your only asking of that which you do not afford me as you have said as much. I don't see it your way.

  • dems set the stage for the repubs to control the tariffs.

  • I could equally argue that a vote for the Democrats is objectively the dumb and morrally wrong vote and nobody likes a grammer nazi.

  • So it sounds like CPB was the lobbying arm of NPR/PBS. -I'm not sure it's wise to shutter the lobbying agency that get's them federal funds but on the other hand they were clearly not having the desired effect on congress.

  • and they'll win because blue team wants to do anything but accept any sort of responsibility by constantly laying the blame on others.

  • As a third-party voter, you don't have my sympathies either.
