  • Cute! These lil' guys always did have a great design

  • I feel like it makes even more sense if you consider that Calvin is an 80's kid which means his parents were raised in the 50s or 60s. Also based on what we've seen of Calvin's Dad, he probably thinks he's giving Calvin an important lesson/life experience that'll be good for him

  • Same, just looking at it makes me laugh

    1. This is way too brief and lacks any actual evidence for its argument
    2. It doesn't touch on the main argument of AI bubble forecasters: that AI costs a massive amount of money to develop and run but does not make nearly enough money to recoup that investment. And people don't seem to be interested enough in AI to actually pay for it, especially given that the actual price will be very high
  • Wow yet another example of forcing AI into something that the AI just makes worse. Must be a day that ends in Y

    1. This article likes to repeat itself a lot
    2. Is this article actually about how the author didn't like The Gilded Age?
    3. Only showing critic reviews and not showing user reviews seems like less of an issue than the article presents, given that a quick glance at Rotten Tomatoes shows that critic and user scores tend to be pretty similar but critic scores are lower 9 times out of 10
  • What if the 2030s change the approach and use AI to teach everybody how to program?

What does AI (already known to be an unreliable bullshitting machine) provide to students that existing tutorials, videos and teachers do not already?

Also the companies investing in AI are not trying to teach their workers to be better, they're trying to make more profit by replacing workers or artificially increasing their outputs. Teaching people to program is not what they care about

  • As a young child who didn't yet know what Barbasol was, I was still a little disappointed to find out that the can was not, in fact, filled with delicious whipped cream

  • It's funny that they can never give actual concrete reasons to use it, just "it's the future" or "you're gonna get left behind" but they never back those up

  • If you check their history more closely you'll see that this is probably AI. No other works similar to this in style and they've previously posted genned images in AI communities

  • Nice! Yeah I don't mind a modest difficulty increase but some of the romhacks really don't play well without super optimized teams of competitive mons

  • That baguette sniffing picture has meme potential

  • So the guy that spent half a year taking away lifesaving aid from starving people now says money is no big deal? Then why spend so much time cutting welfare programs?

That's not even starting on the fact that current AI and robots are nowhere near the full automation level for the vast majority of necessary work.

  • What's the rom hack? Gen 4 is one of the few Pokemon gens I haven't played and I've wanted to do it with a Rom hack that fixes some of the old issues with it

  • Thanks, I've only really seen the more common Touhou characters

Funny to think that meme is already 4 years old, eventually it'll be older than the consoles it was referencing when it was made

  • Can't say I know what show it's from, I just saved the meme because I also find it relatable

  • The robot is the only one who won't divorce him

  • I'm not saying there aren't subtle ones that get through, I'm just saying that there's nothing in the report distinguishing between the obvious shill and a well disguised advert. Granted, if an advert is disguised well enough, it's hard to track in a study like this, but there are plenty that aren't obvious until you start poking around posting history or metadata
