  • Please recall Democrats had FOUR YEARS to prepare for another Trump campaign, including two years of majority.

The filibuster/cloture can be ignored by them at will with a simple majority vote.

The senate doesn't "need" a two thirds majority. It makes bills "exceptions" to that majority vote with regularity, hundreds of exceptions; it's a senate rule and not law.

The senate could have impeached and convicted him and barred him from holding office for his entire life. That's their job. they are the only ones who can do it.

  • He's flagrantly defied emoluments from day one, nothing was done about it.

  • The UK has been doing this since the dark ages, not even exaggerating. I'm not sure about France there's too much war for me to keep track of

  • The joke is he doesn't need to go "all in" to influence US politics.

We're surprisingly cheap with above board "donations". Let's all pretend that's all they get.

In the 70s, the FBI ran a sting, bribing government officials (congress, judge, etc). They immediately caught like 30 of them, fish in a barrel. It was called "Abscam".

Today, donations from Super PACs don't need to be explained, there is no requirement to divulge. So, they are bribed above board if the charges are "reasonable", if it's more expensive to an absurd degree, they use other means.

Let's say he had to give everyone in leadership of congress and executive and courts a MILLION DOLLARS. He'd still be unfathomably wealthy, he wouldn't even notice it's missing.

They'll sell out usually for five-six figures, or even a lucrative trading tip.

Epstein did a lot of this "lobbying". Sometimes those who need to be bought have certain secrets they wish to share.

  • It's not legal, but there is a lot of precedent for it, which usually defines law. Presidents haven't declared war since the Korean war, so all of those military engagements weren't acts of war since because we said so (but they still are).

Now, before we started ignoring declaring war, we still ignored "the law" frequently since at least the early 1900s maybe earlier. And, of course, we were founded by law breaking. So, breaking the law is a long American tradition.

  • But energy can't be destroyed or something, so that means I am a chubby baby with wings and a little bow and Jesus tells me stories and doesn't molest me ever, for all time.

  • They don't exist because they're not doing very much, not because a list can't be made. Please don't make false claims in a civil discussion, there's no need for that.

I don't have to make a list to please you, it's crazy but I don't work for you or anything. Perhaps read about other representatives around the world and in the USA, and how they stood up to their power mongers. So many ways, come on you can think of ten right now. Make a list for me.

Yeah, Rs and Ds swap every few years, that's what they do. That's all they do. What do you expect them to do? If they toppled the other party, they would immediately collapse. This only works if there is a constant "scapegoat" to blame, with two easily defined sides (like for example theological and secular).

  • This is the least of it. Representatives entire families are set for life. Somehow, everybody in their family gets stinking rich after election, and their book is always a "NYTimes best seller" because they are bought by the campaign (and dumped in a landfill), insider trading is rampant, super-PACs.

I'm okay with someone in the military picking up some extra cash. Family has to eat, whether government is "shut down" or not. I hope it was some smart ass buck private.

In the USA politics is the number three easiest way to achieve "financial security", only inheritors and prosperity gospel preachers have it easier.

  • Israel is a player, but not bigger than the banks, THEY are number one! Check out the history of, say, Deutsche bank. Older than most governments), and much wealthier than most of them, too. Israel does have their own very powerful "banking families" of course, it's an international interest, not national.

I don't think the banking families are concerned about, say, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They will sell to everyone involved, and make sure the winner is financed with many loans from the IMF or elsewhere.

Media? Yeah, US media is probably their biggest international ally after the US government, I think. Not an expert, new information always desired.

  • Great idea, we'll get a new mafia that runs illegal gambling from street to championship level.

You either have an illegal but very popular activity run by "the black market", or a legal but very popular activity run by the government and capitalists. The market doesn't go away

Either way, with a market this massive, the profits are insane. This would be much bigger than the drug trade, gambling is the very easiest and most popular of such "sinful" activities.

  • Personally, and this is speculation on my part, I think Trump will soon shoot straight up to heaven and he knows this, so he's now laying the foundation for a "Family of Trump" takeover of the Kennedy name in every way possible to ensure his legacy and paint everything gold.

There's no reason for Republicans (or anyone) to "stay in office", they are ALWAYS in office. They just take turns and talk shit, so they always have a scapegoat. Everything election wise is working as designed. My opinion.

  • I was surprised he won! Unusual, bigger spender wins as a rule of thumb (90%).

I wonder why they allowed him to win... the old switcheroo? stab in the back, "I had a stroke and now I am a fundamentalist Christian?" We will see.

  • The USA will undergo spiraling inflation until it collapses in on itself.

Our federal government is far more trouble than they are worth. We should be like individual states, but united. I declare it the... United States of America! Oh, wait.

But really, we will collapse and split into collections of states, some alone, some allied with others, I'm not sure if it's officially a balkanization, but close enough.

Our state governments will replace the fed automatically and easily (easily as in possible, not easily as in staving off empty shelves, fuel shortages, etc).

Our banking will stay basically the same, because they're not even the government, the Fed is a collection of bankers representing our various super banks.

  • in south america the masks have been off since at least Dole fruit and the Panama canal, like a century of this and counting

  • Well, the Ds know they need an independent issue or three to win an election, it's in the numbers (Ds and Rs can't win with only their own voters voting, they are about 30% of voters each).

And they virtually ignored this, so of course she lost. She did exactly as she was expected to do, she's not dumb. They ignored fundamental facts and instead pursued the Republican vote for much of her campaign. She fell on the sword, right out in the open, and everyone in politics knows it.

  • Be careful what you wish for

  • Gardening, gold, guns

  • Why would there need to be a fascist takeover? They were on the stage at Trump's last reelection, proud billionaires, many of them, smiling and laughing and applauding.

And that's what they reveal in public, just imagine behind the scenes, money machine goes brrrrrrrr

"Fascist takeover" occurred some time before Citizens United (money=free speech, corporations are people), I'm not sure exactly when.

  • Okay allow me to rephrase to MILITARY POWER or MURDER POWER or whatever you wish with regards to death and destruction.

USA is pretty good, don't you think?
