  • You're standing on a soap box on the street corner. My downvote is me frowning, shaking my head in disappointment, and walking away.

  • You're thinking of beaver bots which have been in the game for a while. This is adding QoL features that were originally mod-only.

Using sensors, counters, timers, and relay logic, you can automate operations of your buildings, choose where the water flows as conditions change, customize the power grid’s behavior, decide when some parts of the city open, and much, much more.

  • I've had the Elegoo Neptune 2S, Neptune 3 Pro, and now the Centauri Carbon and in general I am really happy with it. I'm not happy at the company in regards to their promises regarding the color changer for it, but for the most part they've been a decent company.

  • It's cool that it works for you. Doesn't invalidate OP's bug find

  • A responsible adult would behave themselves and put in an issue on GitHub, not rant on a social media site and expect that to bring change

  • We've got the Kia Niro Wind and I agree they're fun to drive. Wish it'd charge faster (capped at 75kW I think?) for long trips, but it's been more than fine for what we need

  • I second SWAG. nginx, let's encrypt, plenty of ready-to-go configs, it's pretty great

  • Wife and I have been using our Sleep Number pillows running on 6 years now. Good memory foam, doesn't need fluffing

  • With luck Clint will have a good rework to make him less of the creep he is today

  • Battle.net, with the feature to run partially- downloaded games and stream missing assets in on demand.

This just brought back a wonderful memory of playing original Overwatch and my hard drive failing in the middle of a match. Out of nowhere character models were being replaced with floating blue orbs and sounds were missing, but I could still finish the match with what was loaded into RAM!

  • It's vibes based

  • I use it as an overconfident rubber duck to bounce ideas and solutions off of in my code, but I don't let it write for me. I don't want the skills I've practiced to atrophy

  • Mom said it's my turn to be Dale!

  • I used Sync (first for Reddit, then for Lemmy), but the dev's been AWOL for a lot longer than normal so it's pretty broken at this point.

Tried Connect next, and it was alright.

Currently using Voyager and I'm pretty happy with it. It's gotten me back to the old Sync customizations I used to have.

  • I'd go further and compare this to actors who many times will never watch the finished product. IIRC, John de Lancie voiced Discord in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic but never watched any of the episodes until the fandom really took off. He was surprised this small role he forgot he even did gained such popularity! I'm sure he's seen a number of episodes by now, especially since he later reprised his role

  • everything we agree on is an ad would be prohibited

And that's part of the issue; this assumes that we've somehow come to a consensus on what 'ads' are, or which are 'bad'. I can get behind getting rid of obtrusive ads, such as pop-ups and video interruptions, but I also actually like billboard advertisements (As long as they are in locations that respect what's around them, are legible from a distance (not wordy, I'm trying to drive!), and don't have eye-searing lights). When I travel, billboards often bring us to some interesting locations we may not have thought of before.

Personally, I'd look at making policies restricting "obtrusive advertising". I don't mind the advertising, I mind the delivery.

  • When my parents bought their current home (middle of a forest in the PNW), they found a decent radon leak coming from the foundation. One of the first renovations was new carpeting, and IIRC they made sure to get the foundation properly sealed to stop the leaks at the same time.

  • unskippable ads on CPR instructional videos

Funnily enough, this is an actual example they use in one of their ad skits!

Video is time-stamped at the ad, but the whole video is pretty great (if it happens to be your type of humor)

Answering Questions Without Knowing the Questions

  • At its core, I don't mind if someone wants to let me know about their product. Unfortunately we're in an age where it's absolutely in our faces all the time and pushed with the most brain-rotting algorithms, and they're absolutely horrendous. Every once in a while though I'll still find ads that I enjoy, mainly YouTube creators who don't just read scripts, but put in effort to make something worth watching.

I'll always point to 'TomSka and Friends' (TomSka being the creator of the ASDFmovie series) as being decent ads; each one is a full skit and I actually enjoy those ads because they put in the effort.
