Between higher costs, shittier offerings, and every single one of these companies bending the knee to Trump, do you need any more reason to dump them and set up a Jellyfin server with an ARR stack?
“But I want to support the creatives”
Amazon or whoever is paying the creatives whether you pay Amazon or not. Pay creatives who don’t work under fascist supporters.
If one had gotten through, more people would have gotten through and a lot more people would have been hurt.
It’s unfortunate she died, and I believe that most of the people there were rubes that only really intended to shit on desks and piss in each other’s mouths, but mobs go nuts.
Look at the case of Marina Abramovic… she did a performance piece where people could do whatever they want to her and she would just stand there. It started out innocently enough by the end she was cut up and someone had pointed a gun to her head.
Anyway, point is, even if you believe people didn’t intend to hurt other people, these things change when mobs realize there will be no repercussions for their actions.
I’ve got 3 Thinkpad 420s (nice) - released 2011ish - that I got for free last summer. They all run Linux Mint now. One runs Jellyfin, one runs Sonarr and Radarr, one runs Jackett and Transmission. Works great!
This is an upgrade from the 2010 Dell, which was free from a friend with no working screen and missing 5 keys that I had running all of that.
It’s bully tactics. Bullies push and push and push with plausible deniability, then when they get a reaction they play the victim.
It’s not just a kids’ problem. It happens all the time in adult life too. Someone can do the most rotten shit to you, but as long as they don’t swear, you’re the bad guy when you finally lose it on them.
Fuck these bullies. Grow the fuck up you pieces of shit.
Also a good idea. Even wear headphones (with nothing playing, or something on low - it’s important to be aware of your surroundings!) so you can ignore people and they won’t know you’re just being rude. ;)
I kid, but if people see headphones they’ll assume you can’t hear them, which could be good or bad depending on the situation I guess.
