  • No. There's no good reason to, and a few good ones not to. Chiefly, they could reject you and make up any other reason why.

  • I think the point with all of these is that they are "cloud"-based. Except instead of the cloud being someone else's computer, it's your own. Let's take Immich, for example. Sure I could keep all my photos on my phone. But what if I lose or break my phone? What if I have an actual camera with an SD card and I want to offload those photos? Self-hosting lets me keep a backup. I can set up a server with redundant drives that itself backs up to a server in another location with its own separate drives. Thus, I have my own safe cloud storage.

  • To be clear, Trump's stance on Gaza is just the same, if not worse than hers. Everyone who sat out on principle did zero thinking about this and shot themselves in the foot and gave the rest of the Palestinians a death sentence.

In short, he said he'd "finish the problem," crush pro-palestine demonstrations, and that once it's rebuilt, Gaza "could be better than Monaco."

Edit: All these links are from before the election. There's been even more he's said since then.

  • Definitely hide so that they can't complete their quest of meeting all the people.

  • That's the joke

  • I don't think that's possible if they don't have a working boot drive.

  • Oh I see now. You should be able to import them. Worst case is you can't then you're back where you are now. There shouldn't be any data loss.

  • Yeah. As far as I understand it, exporting is more of a config thing. You can shut down your system asd boot it while missing drives (done this by accident) and boot while missing, and it'll say there's an issue with it. Shut down, pop the drives back in and you're good to go on boot.

  • You can just drop in a new boot drive and install from a usb. I do recommend setting up a boot pool mirror though. This way if one goes down, you have a spare that can be used to help recover more quickly.

  • Yup.

  • You're ahead of the stable releases so you'll need to wait until stable catches up with you. Probably when QPR1 hits stable.

  • Thanks for trying. I'm unfortunately out of ideas.

  • Try 144 or 165 if you have it. It's some sort of matching game rather than hardware compatibility.

  • What is your resolution and refresh rate set to? MacOS can be quite picky.

  • I use four monitors for my WFH setup with a total of 11.8m pixels. Three 6k monitors is 37.3m pixels, more than three times what I've got. I'd be seriously considering this if I could run all four, but for now the hackintosh lives on.

  • !Two birds with one stone!<

  • In September of 2023, Amazon announced the Echo Show 8 Photos Edition. It looked just like the regular Echo Show 8 smart display/speaker but cost $10 more. Why? Because of its ability to show photos on the home screen for as long as you want—if you signed up for a $2 monthly subscription to Amazon's PhotosPlus. Now, about a year after releasing the Echo Show 8 Photos Edition, Amazon is announcing that it's discontinuing PhotosPlus. That means Echo Show 8 Photos Edition users will be forced to see ads instead of their beloved pics.

  • They showed and talked about it in the keynote too. It's not like this is some last minute surprise.

    I can't do timestamped links on mobile, but it's at 6:27: https://youtu.be/TX9qSaGXFyg
