  • I work with little babies and this makes me so mad knowing how traumatic this would be.

  • [Comm policy] Feddit.org admins respond to criticism regarding pro-Israel stance

  • I don't think they realise I can't see any messages from them as we de-federated days ago. As for the record, I am not @Deceptichum but I rarely use Lemmy and trust their input here and what they've shown me is validation enough.

The fact that Feddit.org is more upset about the comparison to Nazi's than they are for allowing genocide deniers to exist on their instance is reason enough for our position to continue. If Feddit.org can show serious systematic changes in how it deals with its hate speech problem, we may consider changing our stance in the future.

Private childcare whistleblowers' disturbing experiences inside a sector putting profits before kids

  • Thank you for your sacrifice. I hope one day we win.

  • Yes and others in his party have suggested increasing educator ratios from 1 educator to every 11 children to 1 to 50.

  • It really upsets me to see this, and points to the lack of funding for regulatory inspections. This should have been more heavily inspected, especially as they’ll provider kept failing centres.

In my nursery room I set out to outright ban high chairs and other restrictive devices from the space late last year, to know children were going hours in them when I wasn’t even comfortable with seeing them for a minute or two once they want out is horrific.

  • Oh this isn't even school, this is kindegarten/preschool. It's even more ridiculous and stressful. We operate 1:11 at present, 1:50 would kill the profession and many children.

  • "There's a certain level of decorum that I expect from political leaders, especially in front of cameras," Nate Vance - who spent three years volunteering with the Ukrainian military after Russia's full-scale invasion - told the BBC.

    Dude even volunteered.

  • It creates unfair education access. Why should only those who can afford to pay ridiculous fees get better quality? Education should not be pay-to-win.

Same goes for healthcare and any other basic essentials, we do not need a two tiered approach to equality.

  • In a video Ask Me Anything (AMA) session hosted by CEO Steve Huffman following the company’s quarterly earnings report (which went poorly), the founder and exec said Reddit is actively testing ways to make some content require payment to access and plans to roll out a “paid subreddit” feature later this year.

Also they banned a bunch of porn and lgbt subs.

  • May be all the propaganda bots going offline?

  • I live in a city of millions and there's a handful of 24/7 supermarkets around. The few times I've ever needed them in emergencies, it was creepy quiet not angry karens.

  • I tried that. No one ever really joined. I tried posting content, and no one ever engaged with it.

Guess theres not many childcare educators on Lemmy as the reddit community is always super active.
