  • Using HPlips, I got it to work on one laptop. It requires the use of a GUi and very temperamental for some reason. I can only give print commands from the HP printing center software where I need to click and drag files into it to get it to print.

    It is very inconvenient.

  • Doesn't Firefox natively offer translations?

I often visit sites with Portuguese, Japanese and Swedish content and the browser offers to translate everything to English.

As far as I am aware, the translation happens locally.

  • Congratulations mate. I wish I had your talent.

I have a (possibly ignorant) question: is there a reason you didn't choose GPLv3 as the licence of choice for your projects?

I know license is perhaps the last thing in your ming, just curious.

  • Oh yea. Apparently you can make high quality edible protein with Gorse that have become invasive in Australia and New Zealand.

  • You're probably hinting at tivoization, right?

As much as I respect Torvalds, he really doesn't quite understand how the GPLv2 doesn't protect us enough from corporate greed.

  • This long post has one simple solution: the GPLv3.

It is very contentious, but our tech-broligarcy would've been greatly subdued if more folks used this license instead of other "permissive" (read. Doormat) licenses.
