  • Also not what I said. This was the first election where I was able to vote that I did not cast my ballot for the presidency, but I voted down ticket on everything else, including the questions in my state. My votes were either for democrats or for people who ran independently and had truly progressive ideals.

And before you go off on your oh not voting is a vote for Trump tirade, i live in a heavily blue state where there was absolutely no danger of electoral votes going to trump. My states votes went to Harris. And since that’s how the presidency gets tallied, my votes for the more local politics seemed more pertinent and a better way of getting the future that I think the planet deserves

  • Actually no there isn’t. Black voters voted in majority for kamala. Even Latinos voted majority for kamala. She lost some percentage points with those groups, but by far and away white men and women voted for Trump, not for kamalcanif your only recourse in each election year is to hope you get enough black and brown voters to win you the eldtion, then maybe don’t alienate all those voters and tell them their concerns don’t matter for a year before the election.

  • Maybe you can realize that comparing genocides doesn’t really help you.

“I don’t care about that genocide because it is happening thousands of miles away and doesn’t affect me even though it’s my money funding it, but I do care about this genocide that’s not yet happened but might happen to me”

If you can excuse one genocide then you can excuse them all. It doesn’t suddenly matter because it’s your life at stake.

  • The US led ceasefire basically walked back any and all real war ending measures and was just basically a propaganda piece covering for Israel.

    From the UNs own website:

The vetoed draft would have made imperative an immediate and sustained ceasefire in Gaza, with an “urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian assistance” to all civilians and lifting “all barriers” to delivering aid Council members disagreed over elements of the draft, and some highlighted glaring exclusions despite having raised multiple concerns with the US during negotiations Ambassadors largely supported swift action to bring food and lifesaving aid at scale into Gaza, where a UN-backed report on Monday raised alarms about famine as Israel continues to block and slow walk shipments into the besieged enclave

Even when the dems did have power in congress, they did fuck all. As you said, the democratic establishment blocked any movement.

Not voting is intrinsically not a vote for anyone. I’ve voted dem in every single election since I’ve been old enough to vote. Genocide is not something I can countenance. If this was the Trump administration doing this the dems would be shouting from the rooftops about how it’s inconscionable. They’re in control and they are doing the same thing.

Stop relying on black and brown voters to save your asses each time.
