  • You do come across as angry, but if not you should do some self reflecting on why people take your style of tone as being upset and angry. Right now you seem to have shifted to being passive aggressive.

  • I assumed reason to have bikes follow signs at intersections is to try and prevent cars that try to avoid them end causing a fatal accident to someone else. Predictable behavior I assumed reduces chances of accidents due to unknown variables causing large vehicles to suddenly make eradict maneuvers endangering other vehicles and pedestrians.

  • Yeah, I have his channels blocked on freetube and pipepipe. Tech related searches has been better for it without his channels dominating results.

  • His channel feel like watching an infomercial too with all the constant plugs compared to other channels. Its like for people who like TV infomercials.

  • Im not sure what logic you are pointing to. From what I'm seeing it just seems like you are angry people here don't like or want to watch LTT. That's my take away from the conversation thread anyways.

  • In an era of chat control getting pushed and governments pushing to require verification for sites why don't people appreciate Linus helping to give the impression that GrapheneOS is the criminals OS of choice?

That imagery hadn't even occured to me with me just seeing at a privacy OS. How helpful of him to use his large channel so that is the impression first set forth when he could have presented any other way and still done his dumb clickbait and stupid face.

  • So people being able to buy steam keys cheaper than from Steam doesn't prove that games can be bought cheaper than on Steam? What?

    And even Valve says

It's OK to run a discount for Steam Keys on different stores at different times as long as you plan to give a comparable offer to Steam customers within a reasonable amount of time.

    https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/keys

Comparable not same. Which provides a lot of flexibility on discounts outside the steam store. And isthereanydeals data that tracks all the prices over the years showing that your claims don't match the reality of steam keys not going on sale cheaper than on Steam sales.

But, you seem to live in your own reality so we are just arguing in circles. You ignoring real sales prices and just fixating on some imaginary price outcomes where Steam key sales prices aren't cheaper than Steam sales.

  • One Finger Death Punch

  • Ad tiers on a streaming platform that previously didn't have ads is new thing, and people paying for it can't use the excuse they were unaware something like that existed. They are knowingly paying for the ad experience after having experienced the no ad experience.

  • What business would want to sell a product at the same low price all the time. They want to sell it at the highest price possible, but will have sales to also reach more price sensitive consumers over time as those willing to pay more decreases. But, not keep it permanently low to sell games to consumers who would pay more between sales.

Anyways when it comes to this comment I had responded to.

Not actually true. They only require price parity for steam keys. Basically don't sell steam copies anywhere cheaper than on steam. Any other copy you can sell for whatever price.

Point of my comment to them in providing data of ARC Raiders being cheaper outside of Steam is that in actual real world cases Steam copies have and are being sold cheaper than on Steam. And its not the exception as data from isthereanydeals shows.

  • They can set retail price to $1000 for all I care. As long as the actual sale price is $10 for instance is all that matters. And putting off permanent price for as long as possible to not devalue products and get more customers during sales due to thinking it is a deal is common strategy.

Its actually why when epic did coupons and covering the discount some publishers opted out because they didn't want their games to sell that low yet even if the profit taken is the same. Because they were aware price tracking sites would lead people like me to pass on future sales seeing that the price had been lower, so deciding to wait instead of "overpaying" compared to the all time low.

As part of the four-week long sale, Epic is offering $10 off every single game on the store priced over $14.99. Crucially, Epic explained it would be footing the bill for that promotion, meaning developers' take-home cut wouldn't be impacted by the deal.

On the surface, it seems like a win-win for all involved, but some publishers have decided to pull their games from the store for the duration of the sale.

Key word being comparable as opposed to same. And its not even theoretical. Just looking at games from isthereanydeals which provides historical lows over the years from numerous storefronts shows that many games have had sales cheaper than Steam.

And personal experience too buying many steam keys over buying from Steam because the prices were lower.

You could try to argue how comparable means same, but I'd say how real world sales has steam keys lower than the steam store is what matters more, since its actually what we pay.

  • Nothing convenient about paying to be exposed to ads. It's the same ones who are also all flocking to meta services. All rushed over to use stuff like tiktok and the ones who are more likely to click thumnails with idiotic faces over finding them offputing and skipping them. Also the same ones who take medical advice from non medical experts.

They dictate what becomes the standard unfortunately and drag everyone along.

  • Albania vpn is a way to bypass ads even on twitch if adblocking isn't working. Comes in useful.

  • 190 million idiots. These idiots are the ones shaping our world whether we like it or not. They are numerous and decide what is acceptable.

  • Now need to do something about Google trying to have complete control over apps that can be installed outside the Google Play store.

Its been one step forward and then one step back with the planned dev verification undoing this win and looking to be a worse more locked down Android OS. Probably why Google came to some agreement, since they have plans to increase their control more than before.

  • In an era of countries pushing things like chat control over and over and grasping at straws to try to ban encryption and pushing verification laws its so helpful for a big channel to spread the impression GrapheneOS is the criminals choice.

Just the type of helpful branding needed.

  • Any reason Linux isn't an option? My devices that I ran Windows on end up running Linux in the long run because its been easier on aging hardware.

  • Not enforced and hasn't been for over a decade.

And I guess the language is flexible.

It's OK to run a discount for Steam Keys on different stores at different times as long as you plan to give a comparable offer to Steam customers within a reasonable amount of time.

Comparable being used when it could have used same. Couldn't find language being explicit on lower prices not being allowed.

Only part I've really seen Steam enforce is that if steam keys are given away then game should have a giveaway on Steam too. So like in the past games would make you make an account on a site then give you a key for free, but now even if they do that, few days later you can redeem the game for free directly from steam without signing up for anything.

Steam Keys shouldn't be given away for free if you aren't also offering the same deal (i.e., give the game away for free) to Steam customers. This includes giveaways for promotional purposes, unless that giveaway is very small (under 100 Steam Keys).
