The game got rated last month so it was pretty much complete. A lot of sources said that it was going to release early this year.
Considering that game distribution costs almost nothing and it's pretty clear at this point that Ubisoft has no standards, it's baffling that they cancelled it.
There are definitely valid arguments for the analysis that the American proletariat profit (or believe they profit) in some ways from imperial ventures and therefore support them. This one, from a Swedish liberal, obviously isn't one of those.
Hence "recently". I'm aware he was a soldier, he doesn't make a secret of it. Obviously that's bad and the harm he did can't be undone. I was asking if there was some new information that would cause a struggle-session.
I generally agree, I just don't think the situation is identical to Russia/Ukraine. As I said, OOP is a Swedish lib so I don't trust the motivations behind the post.
However, the sentiment would be understandable and not incorrect from a Greenlander. I very much doubt the American proletariat would actually do anything at all to oppose this unless they thought it would personally harm them.
The situations are not the same. There are valid reasons for Russians to be concerned about NATO encroachment on their border after the repeatedly broken promises that NATO would not expand towards them. There are no valid reasons for America to take Greenland.
What reason could Yankee liberal redditors have to show up to the Greenland sub and clog it up with apologies other than to make themselves feel better? It's understandable that that would frustrate a Greenlander, although it's frankly very funny that the mod in this case is Swedish.
Even if we take at face value the idea that the situations are equivalent (they aren't), anti-war Russians face more consequences than anti-war Yankees do. The primary purpose of Yankee liberals showing up to the subreddit of a European colony and repeatedly apologizing that their government is threatening to colonize it twice over is definitely to make themselves feel better and not to actually help the people being colonized.
On the other hand, it's really funny that the reddit moderator posting this is Swedish.
Based, I'm talking about people like Graham Platner when I say "leftist". Edited my comment to say "many prominent" instead of "almost all" to make that more clear.
Former US soldier leftist who, unlike many prominent "leftist" veterans, actually seems to regret what he did and work to redress it. I think he's an anarchist. He's very active in the pro-Palestine space, he was a participant in the Global Sumud Flotilla. If you saw the photo of the guy smoking at night as an "Israeli" ship moved in the background, that's him.
Trying to explain to my fellow Americans why we put sanctions on other countries
Because they won't let you exploit them freely and hand over all their natural resources and labor for less than they're worth? Often just because they want to make political decisions slightly different from those the American bourgeois want them to make? American sanctions have very different motivations vs. hypothetical sanctions against America IMO.
They follow the pieces like, "How is that not collective punishment?!"
The irony of Americans saying this given what their sanctions do to others around the world is pretty incredible.
