  • Injust actually is an archaic word (with the same meaning as unjust). However, it's equally likely in this case that the person knew this as it is that they are illiterate.

Even funnier is that evildoer is a word, so it's hyphenated (as you point out) for no reason in this case.

  • I think a lot of this is downstream from Torvalds just being an unserious asshole, TBH. It is chud hacker culture, absolutely, but only because he fostered and promoted that kind of attitude in Linux development. Competent management could have done the opposite and it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

  • The creator is unable to work with other people.

  • Yeah, I meant it as a rhetorical question. These people are demons, I don't expect any better of them.

  • That's cool they went on vacation.

It was an official meeting, actually, several times IIRC. One of the times they went (the first, I think), two members (from a "Trot" caucus and a succdem caucus IIRC) spent the whole time complaining about "authoritarianism" to their hosts. At the end they all met with Diaz-Canel and had a discussion. He addressed their "critiques" in detail, the hosts had actually been paying attention to their nonsense and taking notes. Unfortunately, the two making the "critiques" snubbed the meeting and met with the "opposition" instead. Very embarrassing and it must have been painful for the good comrades (in the PCC and DSA) who put in all the hard work of organizing the visit.

There are good members and groups within the DSA, but the way it's organized right now they have no power to do anything to stop the bad ones. One day that might change, and I hope the comrades working towards that succeed.

  • DSA's International Committee has sent delegations to Cuba, if that gives you any idea.

One of the times the IC did that, a "Trot" and a social democrat on the delegation snubbed Diaz-Canel to meet with the "opposition" instead after complaining about the Cuban Revolution to their hosts the whole time. Diaz-Canel addressed all their complaints in the discussion they snubbed. The hosts had been taking notes.

What I'm saying is that parts of the DSA are good, and (very large) parts are very, very bad, and there's no enforcement mechanism to prevent the bad parts from doing whatever they like because (as many in the DSA also like to point out) it's not even a party, let alone a party with those mechanisms in place. Support to the comrades trying to make something useful out of it, I hope they succeed.

  • This is an issue (probably a firmware problem) with that keyboard, not Linux. Someone in this thread said there are review saying it happens on MacOS too, even though the keyboard officially "supports" it.

  • For decades, the field of communist historiography has been dominated by the paranoid readings of the psychology of “totalitarian dictators” and anticommunist treatises against the socialist countries of the world.

    maybe in the west lmao

  • Trump using his military on American citizens

So not only was it OK on people of other countries, but also on """illegals"""?

  • REAL REVOLUTIONARY WOMEN OLYMPICS

    1. Marksmanship.
  • Yeah, it's great. Special thanks to @oculi@anarchist.nexus for posting it last time a lemmitor wandered in here, which is where I got it.

  • SMH, Cuomintang infiltrator snitched to newsweek.

  • Secondly, imagine going to Newsweek to hash out your internal politics, whatever it would be.

If you must air these out do it in a tiny marginal publication like a normal person.

Going to Newsweek is the worst part of this TBH.

  • Mimikyu

    Mimic you

    are you kidding me

  • The surprising thing is this is NYC DSA, well-known for being liberals compared to more radical DSA elements.

  • Yeah, but the Panthers and RAF were serious groups (especially the Panthers). The DSA as a whole (rather than groups within it) isn't. If they were, people like this would be expelled and barred permanently.

  • Talks like a fed, but people will really LARP as feds for free.

  • In capitalist AmeriKKKa, if you're not a weird racist you are considered a dangerous radical.

  • Are you aware that you are on a website right now?
