    1. who says they don't?
    2. its probably not quite as erotic when there is an entire crew pointing lights, cameras and microphones at you, and a director giving you instructions
  • It's really more of a contract, "I promise to carry and raise your children, you promise to provide the money" That's why throughout much of history, you couldn't get divorced, it wasn't about love, it was about security.

Nowadays marriage isn't really as important as before, but still relevant. For women, having a child usually still means making career sacrifices.

  • As long as you recognize there is a problem, you can work on it. It sounds like you are still pretty young, so you have plenty of time to figure stuff out, also things will get better after puberty.

If you feel you need help, get help, preferably from professionals, nothing wrong with asking for help.

  • We shouldn't confuse the effectiveness of these protests with their legality. Yes, the protests moved the government to change its approach to prevent even more unrest. Still, the CCP considered them to be illegal and reacted with force, arresting participants or those that spread information about the protests.

  • Of course, that is also not what I would consider 'publicly or vocally'.

  • I have a Taiwanese friend who is very much anti-CCP, but he does go to china for vacation every now and then.

Yes, you need to be in the right headspace, you cannot expect to vocally or publicly criticize the government and go unpunished. But politics are not everything. China is beautiful in many ways and has many great people. I think it would be a good idea to take the opportunity and make this experience. And afterwards, your opinions on china and the CCP will have a stronger foundation than they do now.

edit: you say you are politically active: is this evident from your social media accounts? That might be problematic.

  • They are too exhausted by all their research to form proper arguments. 🙂‍↕️

  • It's great that your brother is doing better with ChatGPT, but LLMs are not psychotherapists and shouldn't be treated as such. By design they are very affirming. They tend to reinforce people's convictions, allowing them to detach from reality and becoming psychotic. If you keep telling ChatGPT that you are a wothless piece of shit, and that you should kill yourself, before long, ChatGPT will recommend the best ways to do so.

  • The difference being that this water isn't intentionally made non-potable, it just isn't made potable in the first place, which is reasonable for use in toilets. The sign doesn't say anything about sink water, so I'd assume that is potable.

  • Or animal wellbeing.

  • The code being public helps with spotting issues or backdoors.

In practice, "security by obscurity" doesn't really work. The code's security should hinge on the quality of the code itself, not on the amount of people that know it.

  • Considering how often I see nsfw or nsfl stuff because it wasn't tagged... no I don't think so, at least there doesn't seem to be anything widely adopted on Lemmy.

For images at least it should be possible to create a bot that downloads any uploaded image, runs it through an API like Sightengine, and then automatically removes posts or bans users. Each instance would then of course decide whether to set up such a bot, so there is not going to be any fediverse-wide automod.

  • Lumpi, in German "Lumpen" means "rag" or "rags", its a 20 year old Dacia Sandero with 170.000 kilometers.

  • Luckily Belarus is completely sovereign 👍
