  • They're not going to do primaries. They will claim the election is too important and there isn't enough time. And she'll never be done because being a perpetual candidate is a career now.

  • Put world-ending power in the hands of Zionists so they can use it if they ever get even close to losing.

  • If I may borrow a lesson from a particular thought-leader: we exist within the context of all that came before us. Obama was the charismatic guy after 8 years of Bush. He was the guy who gave capital everything it could have wanted during a historical financial crisis while also doing the PR for the bailouts. He also handed the medical insurance industry a huge win while pushing the US to produce record amounts of oil during the inflection of climate change.

The world is now different. I am not so sure his tricks could work again. Mainly because his tricks have led to resentment and political reorganization that would oppose him at every turn. He's simply not smart enough to reinvent himself to fit this moment. People shit on Bush and gave Obama a lot of credit for being clever but he's not really any better. His best role in the current era is reality TV and being a guy who makes phone calls. He's a reverse Trump.

  • Well well well.

  • If everyone in the US is throwing their money at AI then the returns are going to be lower. If 3 AI companies can't walk down the street without having 30M dollars poured onto their heads then investment is inflationary. You'll pay more money for a smaller piece of the return. You need investment elsewhere. Bond yield in the US just went lower as people pull out in favor of stonks. Therefore domestic federal bonds don't have the returns they once did. That leaves foreign bonds and companies.

China is winning the trade war. It has learned to escalate and retaliate as effectively as America. And it is experimenting with its own extraterritorial trade rules, thus changing the path of the world economy.

After six months China is breathing more easily than America, for three reasons. First, it has proved able to withstand American coercion and deft at retaliating, achieving what is known in the jargon as “escalatory dominance”.

Amid all the tit-for-tat, China is developing, by trial and error, a new set of global trading norms. This is its second area of success. It wants to build a Chinese-led system on the ruins of the old liberal trading order, one which will rival Mr Trump’s empire of tariffs. Already China has shifted the geography of its trade: in the year to September its goods exports grew by over 8%, even as those to America fell by 27%. China’s threats to limit rare-earth exports inspire fear because it dominates the market and could cripple Western manufacturing supply chains.

The final reason why China is winning is that the trade war has made Mr Xi and the Communist Party stronger, not weaker.

The narrative is clear - China has our number and has well positioned leverage. It's got the recipe for global growth, not just within its own borders. Western investors have no choice but to chase that growth.

The bad news is that this will likely lead to increased conflict in the West, as we're seeing with escalations in the Caribbean. US investors need to be hands-off with China for now yet they will continue to use old methods of imperialism to secure new routes of investment. Crushing left (or left-ish) wing governments in South America to open up investment in those countries. War will also act as a pressure relief valve for investors upset with Trump. If that fails, then we get pretty close to collapse. If everyone gets mad at Trump yet he decides he really does have the divine right to rule, then there will be bourgeois infighting the likes we haven't seen in a while.

  • Put a gram on a platter so I toke n coughHabit like a bad tattoo I can't take off

  • Graham are you a Kanye fan by any chance?

    "No-"

    Great. Fantastic. That's a relief.

"I was going to say not before Donda-"

Not great but maybe we can still work around that.

    "-2"

    ...Fuck.

  • Comrade stint, now is your chance to collapse.

  • They're trying to Stranger Things it.

  • Dark future where commercials for Doritos are news stories about people being almost killed by cops.

  • The East Wing was built in 1948. Trump was born in 1946. He can't regard it as a historical place because that would mean he's old. He also didn't build it so he inherently doesn't respect it and probably thinks it's tacky. He definitely feels he can and will do better. Trump calculus says it has to go. Washington oversaw the first one being built, which didn't have the balconies and porticoes. Adams changed it as soon as he moved in. It was burned down in 1814 except for the stone walls making up the original residence. They rebuilt it and almost every president since has changed or added something. It's not some sacred historical site. It was created specifically to serve as the private residence for the President. It wasn't created as a museum or monument to one period of time.

It was inevitable that Trump did this. Nobody should be surprised. It's not even a violation of decorum other than he's doing it in an unceremonious way. He's a real estate developer. He's going to develop his real estate. It's sad that they threw FDR/Truman's doorknobs in the trash. It's nice to keep old stuff around because there isn't much of it left. Anything valuable will have gone to a donor in a nice farm upstate, I'm sure. These are the same people that were carrying out lamps and crates of curios when Trump left in 2021.

Don't worry libs, there are still plenty of places on the grounds where Presidents pooped while carrying out racial exterminations. Trump will keep the old slave quarters intact.

  • I liked Boardwalk Empire, another HBO period drama. Mainly because it has Lansky, Luciano, Rothstein, and others as they build this criminal network that becomes part of the deep state. Gaston Means also shows up as a minor character and that's pretty funny. You see a dramatization of the local government corruption schemes in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and NYC. It touches on the Anglo-Irish war and Cuba about 20 years before the revolution. And it's all character actors like the earlier days of HBO dramas.

    I will probably watch this.

  • It's also a broswer that can't browse everything. It adheres to OpenAI's terms of use and code of conduct. Anything that you can't get GPT to generate, the browser won't go to.

  • Sometimes you just have to go Where the River Flows

  • It looks like he's in one of those prefab sheds and built shelving into it himself. This is for all his prepper stuff, I suppose but the set dressing changes so idk.

  • MK Ultra was an umbrella program for more than just using drugs to mess with people. It was like a CIA-within-the-CIA. The hyperfocus on LSD is a limited hangout.

  • Jeffrey was MY friend! Not yours! We didn't even want you there.

We can all agree that part of this is to give cover for building an updated underground bunker, right?
