  • I've known this was a thing since GM first got sued.

    I knew every manufacturer was doing it since there's too much money to be made.

    I want a new car but I'm sticking to my 2010 Honda until it dies... Which might be awhile!

    I just hope it lasts until the FTC and Congress do something about this. Unlikely though.

    I need to reseach whatever I want as a replacement to hope I can just yank a fuse to kill the cellular connection. Then never go to a dealer for service.

  • My city has been investing in bicycle infrastructure over the past few years.

    And I mean taking 2 lanes and converting a lane with a 2 lane bike path and traffic dividers. Stuff like this:

    Driving this weekend I saw an elderly man in maybe his 70s on a three wheeled ebike (eTrike?) pull up to his home and go get groceries out the back basket.

    I shouted "Hey, nice bike" while stuck in traffic. He gave me the nicest grandpa smile and waved at me.

    Not everyone can peddle all day. It was nice seeing this guy still get out and be independent. I also feel safer with him not driving a pickup truck or something.

  • Omfg. I just pictured a Bill vs Rodney meetup and scientific discussion.

    Rodney thanks Bill for being an inspiration before immediately correcting him on several things. Bill shoots back about his scientific accuracy while maintaining language that a layman can follow and keep them engaged. By maintaining that delicate balance is how we get more kids wanting to learn science.

    I'm talking about VGA, DVI, DVI/HDMI, VGA/DVI, coax, Component, composite, mini USB, micro USB, USB extention, 3.5m audio, 3.5 audio extention, digital optical, mini HDMI, HDMI and Ethernet.

    Last week my wife was redoing her desk and asked for a long micro USB for her calculator and extension cables for USB speakers.

    That box became a chest from a Zelda game when I dug in and pulled out the exact three cables she needed. 10ft micro USB, 6ft USB extension and 6ft 3.5 audio extension.

    2. If you do have some then they stay in the kitchen. You serve yourself the serving size. Leave the kitchen and eat the cookie. Easier to say no to getting another.
