What the actual fuck Mexico. What basis is it even using for this vape ban? Have any harms been discovered of vapes yet? And no, the self-defeatism of the unscientific precautionary principle does not count, nor does media fearmongering by the media
Oh yeah, I agree. Though there are some exceptions of specialists who are also great storytellers too and can get you interested in anything, and then there are super generalists who get into rabbit holes and can connect niche concepts across multiple fields in unexpected and cool ways.
I did explore some stuff on the Gemini circumlunar ring but it was all just endless hyper-niche microblogs about tech, and not even fun home/side project stuff, but more like some kind of specially configured redis caching solution they implemented at work once, described like something you'd bring up in a job interview. I'm too normal to be any kind of specialist and unfortunately I find specialists to be the most boring people on Earth, they all give me the vibe of the onion anteater guy, so I couldn't get into it.
Not personally interested because gaming on a phone feels like watching a film or a YT video on a phone to me, some sort of transgression, a line that isn't meant to be crossed, science gone too far etc. but I do understand that many people do it, so maybe it's not a bad idea, just not for me.
I think I'd prefer it if they took out the arm on-computer stuff out of the steam frame and just made a good PCVR headset with both streaming compressed jpeg slop wirelessly and decoding on headset and an option for proper lossless HDMI streaming + inside-out tracking over USB-C (one cable, two connectors on the PC end for convenience), costing about $500 bux and aimed at PCVR users with decent-ish hardware like 3090s etc.
I'm curious if anyone ever made a "Super Mercator" projection, something where "ze west" is even more exaggerated and some continents even more disproportionately reduced missing/removed to own the libs. It kinda sounds like something governments would do/people would like nowadays.
I just skip the AI stuff same as I'd skip any bad song. If a good song was AI generated I don't mind it honestly, but I've yet to hear one.
In my experience though I've not seen a single AI generated song yet. I discover music primarily from Spotify, at the bottom of my playlists where it shows recommended songs to add, or below songs in the player view where it shows "similar to" or something like that.
I got the "unicomp model M" from KeyboardCo circa 2019 and it was a huge piece of shit, least reliable thing I ever used, apart from the buckling spring switches which felt great it was just the cheapest piece of junk and it worked for like 2 months before breaking. Avoid them.
My longest lasting mechanical keyboard was the Vortex Cypher 65% with Cherry MX Clear switches. Lasted several years, not even an old school Ducky usually did.
Right now I'm using a Ducky One 3 Daybreak SF 65% with Cherry MX Blue switches and it's holding along fine. I also bought a random keyboard on AliExpress for like $50 and was really shocked with the good quality. It was a Yunzii X71 68% with some mystery "Crystal switch", I only got it because it looked neat, I didn't even know it was mechanical, shame about the ugly ANSI layout though, I can't stand not having tilde next to CR when using Linux.
