I agree. It’s not a platform issue it’s a market saturation issue. You see this in many fields where the product is frequently a passion project. (Mostly art, music etc.) Some people will keep creating regardless of the earnings and throw the stats. Not that the stats really matter. Not much you can do… aside from UBI.

I would so buy this if it wasn’t a game key card. I already beat it on PC but it would be nice to have on a shelf.

Honestly, the only reason we really needed that much ram to begin with was because no one optimized anything.

I certainly won’t excuse Microsoft here, but if the RAM shortages cause developers to reevaluate their nonfunctional requirements, that will be a small victory.

I have to use AI tools for my work, so arguably I am knowledgeable about that topic (programming). I have seen Claude code do pretty good work. HUGE CAVEAT it works well because we spent a lot of time building out our architecure and the really complex parts have an easy to follow pattern. It’s standing on the backs of giants.

If you do something like software engineering and you have a significant body of existing good work for it to pull from. Claude can be pretty exceptional.

It’s not great at breaking new ground though.

I’m glad we have high res options but I always immediately set these to 1x res. I ❤️ the jaggies.
