just looking around for now

  • fully agree, both have flaws and advantages. but both are better than phillips.

  • until someone tries to use a phillips bit on a pozidriv screw.

pozidriv is better, but at that point, just use torx.

  • the sizes are definetley hard to figure out, but the "if it wiggles, it's too small" rule applies to torx as well.

  • phillips doesn't scale any better. i'm actually glad whenever i see torx on small devices instead.

  • pozidriv is pretty cool, but annoying to use since people confuse it with phillips all the time so you end up with a lot of stripped screws.

torx is the way to go. their sizing is odd, but it transfers torque well and is wear-resistant.

  • they really are trying to fuck themselves over, aren't they?

i'm gonna switch as soon as game devs realize linux needs anticheat support.

and i know a lot of people who don't care what operating system they run as long as they can use their web browser on it.

  • recently reinstalled win10 pro, located in europe using a local account.

    haven't seen any yet.

  • FP4 user here. while that is true, any android ROM with google services on it isn't privacy-focused.

but i don't want to miss out on clash of clans, so here i am using their bullshit spyware.

  • ex-GX user here. i do not miss chrome.

  • yup, sadly many of the bands/artists i listen to don't really offer their music as physicals, but there's also no way i'm gonna spend 20 bucks on an album just to listen to like 3 of the songs ever.

i have a weird way of listening to music.

  • my dad has a huge collection of CDs he started in the 80s. and he's not gonna stop buying every single CD that his favourite bands release.

he rips them onto his ipod and his phone. great way to efficiently own music and get some pretty cool artwork.

so from what i can tell, no one (that i know of) buys CDs to play them out of a playback device, just to own your library.

  • some bands, and their fans. you can make a cassette look pretty dope.

and i've heard prisoners often only have access to cassettes.

  • particular individual

  • like the US military. most of their mission critical stuff has been running for 20 years that way.

if only there were an operating system that could update without shutting down.

  • i wish that still existed, there's conversions for some modern cars, but it has basically vanished.

welp, gotta stock up on spare parts for my little nugget i guess...
