No, I think you are a conservative because usually when folks take this position that's exactly what they say. This whole pity fest a truly Albertan past time.
Let me ask you something, why the fuck would the feds help Alberta? For real though, why would they? I remember back in 2014 in the middle of the oil crash watching coworker after coworker get laid off from their high paying O&G jobs while the federal government extended EI benefits to them, continue to blame all their woes on a liberal government that had nothing to do with a middle eastern, Russian and US Shale production Oil glut. Alberta continues to play the victim in federal politics saying "Ottawa never helps us" even when the liberals bought and funded the completion of a pipeline that was so unpopular that it barely made it across the finish line and had to be forced through jurisdictions that didn't want it there.
And okay let's talk Danielle smith and fucking diversification. Who fucking cares about hydrogen cars? Who's using them? What are people actually using, OH BEVS AND PHEVS, and they are a pretty good solution with sound technology? WEIRD. Maybe she shouldn't have put an axe through our solar and wind renewable market and scared of investors from the province with the excuse of "windmills messing with the view of the Rockies" but slyly pushing for coal mining in the eastern rockies at the same time. I mean I can walk out my front door right now, walk across the street and look at a natural gas processing plant fucking flare up with the rockies as a back drop.
You want the feds to support Alberta farmers? Tell them To stop voting conservative, every single fucking time. Make them into a voting block that will vote for whatever party will actually move away from aligning on every US policy even if its detrimental to our relationship with foreign (Chinese) buyers.
Person from Ontario who moved to Alberta 15 years ago here. Want to know the secret of why no one outside Alberta cares about Alberta? Because Alberta isn't special, and the oil and gas patch isn't special. Its a nice little windfall that will run out one day and the province has no plan B.
I've had to have this conversation with coworkers who complain about how no one in BC or out east care about Alberta and when I ask then if they care about automotive layoffs in Ontario, or loss of fisheries jobs on the east coast, or cost of living issues on the west coast, they outright say they don't give a shit or they say "its different". Its not different, Alberta isn't the economic powerhouse of Canada that it thinks it is. Beyond that though, we have a really fucking stupid government that's actively destroying what's left of our education and healthcare systems, and the dumb fuck hicks outside Calgary and Edmonton do in fact eat it up hook line And sinker.
Lol, the person who had no compassion and empathy for anyone deserves neither. That includes their spouse who mirrors the same ideas and grifts for a living. Fuck your concern trolling.
Right now the soldiers and ice feel invulnerable, untouchable. Imagine being a foot soldier in an area where most folks now want you dead. Doesn't matter if its crappy hunting rifles shooting at you, they will kill you, they demoralize you. All of a sudden your brothers and sisters want you dead and you're not quite sure what you're even doing there. Worse, maybe you're not onboard with all of the stupid shit Trump and his ilk are doing, maybe you decide you're actually with the civilians.
No question though, so much death is on the way, but the fight is worth it for our children and future.
How about YOU prove us wrong. How about YOU refute my points. I have no obligation toi you, I'm telling the side I see everyday living in Alberta.
