Not to mention many trans people don't necessarily want the surgery.I don't know all the circumstances that lead to an Iranian trans person being discriminated against, but it sounds like it is commonplace regardless of their legal status.

  • 100% agree. Also worth noting that these Iranian prisoners were likely in jail for being trans.

    The Iranian government also monitors online transgender communities, often subjecting them to censorship, and police routinely arrest trans people.
