  • Thank you Konrad! Exactly, except rather than a friend or someone from your peer group, it's a totally diverse group of all ages from all countries in the world, giving you an objective opinion - the type of feedback & verdict you wouldn't encounter in your daily life. So the outfit concept is a great one - say you are wearing something standard is your country - let's just guess Hungary. But what do people in Ghana and Guetemala and Hong Kong think on it? It's a snap decision between two outfits based on people from age 16 - 99. (I have seen a 13 year old and a 93 year old play & enjoy it, so ok, 99 is maybe exaggerating; and actually the age limit is 16+) . The reciprocity part is curcial though!

  • That's a point that my daughter has also asked because she says there are no winners therefore it can't be a game! It's a game mainly because it's fun when you receive your verdict knowing that 12 random people from anywhere in the world have just answered your question - whether it's what shirt looks best or whether to move house. It's also a game because there is a subtle team at play which you will never know...while playing JuryDuty you are answering with 11 other anonymous team members. It's a more of a game when you are actually asking a question (not just trying the JuryDuty trial round - that's more to get an idea of the game). Also, this is just the MVP, but the real model will be more "gamification" with User Stats, and rewards for playing streaks or contributing to different verdicts etc....Have I changed your mind a teensy bit? I can't tell you HOW incredibly helpful it is to get feedback! and I'm genuinely grateful for you playing & taking time to comment back!! Thank you Konrad!

  • Sorry! Not very clear!! What I mean is that if you had asked an actual question - and had received a live Jury verdict - would you feel less let down?

  • Hello Stamets, Thanks so much for playing and sorry you are let down! If you don't mind, would love to tailor my description of JuryNow so it's more accurate and doesn't lead to disappointment! That's the last thing I want!! Now you have played, and assuming it was a live jury of 12 judging your question - whether it's what shirt to wear, or whether to take a 6 month job in Antarctica (my nephew took a 2.5yr one!!) would you be less let down? Thank you again!

  • Hello Slippy, Thanks so much for playing! It's super exciting to see feedback and I'm really grateful you took time to come back to Lemmy & let me know what you think! I think Lemmy & sites like Reddit are amazing and revolutionary for that debate, discussion open conversation type of situation they create. So if it's a peer group conversation you want whether it's office attire, family row, political debate...that is where you would go. JuryNow is more about a very diverse group of 12 people from Guatemala, Germany, Gambia, Georgia who are made up of all ages, cultures, professions, giving you a verdict that is pure unadulterated wisdom! The more diverse the jury, the better the verdict! And so while the JuryDuty can feel la bit like a chore, the part where you get your verdict from 12 real people is exciting if it's your own quesiton, and you know that 12 people have just considered it! Well this is what I hope and when lots of people are playing online simultatneously and all the juries are live, it works! But I'm learning that the negative feedback is a load more valuable in some ways! REally appreciate it!

New Game Concept: JuryNow – Get a Verdict from 12 Real People in 3 Minutes

  • getting hacked in just 20 minutes due to a basic misconfiguration is alarming!

  • Making WSL open source could actually lead to some useful contributions and better transparency overall ; and good for Linux tools?

  • Board Games @sopuli.xyz

Built a global, fast-paced social judgment game inspired by real-life juries and decision fatigue. Looking for feedback from board game brains!

  • JuryNow is not open-source or self-hostable, and won’t be.

This is a personal project I’ve developed over many years (16), and I’m still shaping where it goes. I shared it here because it’s lightweight, browser-based, and real-time and not because it’s federated or designed for open deployment.

I fully respect the open/self-hosting ethos but this is NOT that, and I’d like to be upfront about it.

  • Hello Captain! Thanks so much for playing firstly ANd for coming back to give feedback! The jury will always be 12, no more, no less...but the idea is to have a cycle of reciprocity, whereby you are asking and voting in a seamless 3 minutes! Indeed, this is a brand new MVP and still ironing out some bugs (my tech ironing skills are a WIP!) and I know what you mean about the survey part...But when you get your verdict, did it reduce that 'survey' feeling? Did you feel it was worth it to get your own answer? (I hope so!!)

  • Hello there, Thanks so much for playing! Indeed, I see it as a game - my daughter insists it's not a game because you can't win and there is no competition! It's definitely fun getting your veredict - some mini dopamine hits there!

  • SKIP button is being worked on I promise! And thank you for playing Kraiden (and putting up with teenage drama!!) It's also great for the teenager to get a different persective...AND I must say, there will be questions you will want a couple of teenagers to vote on in your jury too! The best juries are the most diverse (in terms of age, culture, countries, professions etc)

  • It's going to really depend on the amount of traffic to make this possible but the idea is to get a totally diverse jury answering questions on anything...i.e. the opposite of somewhere like Reddit where you you pick your communities. So you have a true cross section of our world answering you and get a global perspective that is nothing like your peer group. For that to happen, one needs to answer all the questions as best as you can. And when it launches properly, it will be one free question a day which will also bring a different element...If there are 50,000 people playing at any given time (this is what i'm hoping for this year! i'm very hopeful and very optimistic!) then you will have far less "juryduty" time! But anyway, a HUGE thank you for playing and for your feedback! I'm keeping a note of every comment!!! It's gold!

  • Thank you HEndrik! REally apprecaite you playing AND taking the time to write feedback!! Indeed, It's always goign to be a FREEMIUM model (my new word of the year!) with one free daily play, and then to monetize it, there will be a premiuim version where you can see 12 flags from where you jury is from, AND have a 3rd options!

  • Thank you Ratatouile! There is currently a REPORT button, but indeed, i really see a high priority need clearly for SKIP! Do you think it would be confusing to have it as a Joker Card that you can play once (to skip) or does it just need a SKIP button (that you can only use once)
