  • I’m glad they provide the option for both ports but I worry it might be confusing for consumers and a dongle might have been a better call here. They probably should’ve done what Nvidia has done and have the firmware for HDMI on the video chip rather than on the OS.

  • Hopefully it won't get lost after you make it

  • If you're looking for more compact than powerful asustor has this https://www.asustor.com/en/product?p_id=91 12 nvme sticks with 8tb per stick would give you 96tb of storage in that small form factor. Only problem might be how much power you'd get out of that processor but you can bump the ram up to I think it was 96 gigs

  • Seeing the camera bandolier looked goofy to me at first but I think it's kinda growing on me. After watching the waveform clip of them comparing Leica and iPhone pics my understanding of viable cameras is all over the place now lol.

  • Yeah these days it feels a lot more high stakes to do anything on reddit since if you vote on the wrong thing you can get banned and if you comment on the wrong thing you can also get banned lmao. Easiest option is to just not participate.

  • Yeah I'd have to wonder how the conversion would work too. Maybe like having a virtual audio setup with a virtual mic in the center lol. Technically I know it's not mappable to channels but maybe like a virtual setup like that and specifying how many channels to record the audio track to. Not sure if any audio format would support individually mapped height channels though so maybe not possible. Guess that would also cause some complications for room correction I'd imagine.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Will it be possible to reencode atmos or DTS x into the open eclipsa spatial format.

  • I don't comment or vote on reddit anymore. I use them both a similar amount I'd think. If I ever have to do research into a topic though the answer is almost always on reddit.

  • If it gives you any hope I’m pretty sure Apple uses jpegxl for their pro mode raw compressed format. Apparently they did that change with last year’s iPhone so there’s still hope.

  • I’ve ran the windows iso through Chris Titus’s tool to make a microwin iso. Then installed that through ventoy and then ran Chris Titus’s tool in windows after it got done installing. Been working great for a while now.

  • My best guess is it’ll fallback or include data for DV1 data in content with DV2 otherwise they are really shooting themselves in the foot lol

  • If it’s a standard that’ll only work on new chips and so many people already have TVs I don’t see this being super widely adopted unless there’s backwards compatibility.

  • I’d imagine it would refund the cost of the product to you no matter the result of the coin flip since it is basically gambling. If you return it after getting it for free you get paid the cost and if you return it after paying double you still get back the cost.
