  • Jackbox 11 steam deck. Maybe does not qualify.

  • The one time i borked the graphics wss the arch firmware thing.

1 weekend away arrived back late sunday to show my daughter her new graphics tab did an update rebooted like aclown and voilla no display.

After that i got rid of arch (endeavour) then in stalled arch (cachy) and life has been good.

Stuff can break and firmwsre changes do it beautifully.

    Read the docs

  • It is like you knew i had. (Or this has happened before).

Pihole runs on the same machine and 1 other. To request the pihole dns 192.168.0.100 is needed.

Do you recommend anything else to check?

  • Selfhosted @lemmy.world

    Anyone use Pushover with UptimeKuma

  • Got win 11 in qemu going to try ipdsting after yhe Holidays

  • Is everything working as expected now?

    Out of curiosity what distro?

  • Specs like cpu, ram etc would be handy?

  • I ran mint (non debian) on older hardware for years and loved it mostly.

Upgraded everything in march and realised i needed newer kernel newer mesa. I could of installed from certain ppa's but hey 12-13 years on one distro i fancied a change.

Kde took some learning (does one need all those settings) but hey functional hardware is the goal and the goal was met. Like graphics tablet i had to mess with modprobe and .sh files just works magnificently.

I can't compare performance as 8 thread to 24 thread i do not see a fair comparison.

Leaving the comfort zone i think made me understand more about linux and that is very good.

  • Syncthing-fork is syncthing-android. View the app in fdroid then view sourcecode links you to catfriend1 github

  • Pimylifeup.com

Helped me a bunch when starting read everything twice Emmet does like a good typo.

Syncthig is.now my goto for mobile.

Nfs or samba for home network.

  • To be fair never tried. 9070 needed 6.13 / 6.14 i had 6.11. Mainline complained of a module not allowing update but i am very happy where i am

  • I like endeavour os. Needed an uptodate kernel and fancied a change after spending 15 years on mint which i love. Kde was new to me but grown to love it.

    Arch ftw.

  • Ah yes forgot to mention in my family we run syncthing fork from fdroid also.

  • Memos is pretty usefull for me. App on fdroid momemos is superb. Syncthig takes care of google drive ish needs. Immich for photos.

    Mealie keeps food interesting.

Have not done calendar or contacts yet.

Running a few on a low power pi5 using docker for the most backup pihole runs on baremetal.

1 16tb external and 2 5tb external. Not the best but i dig it.

    I need a nuc.

  • Dropped 50 watts off the card. What do u mean?

  • Been running mint for years with eveything ok. Built a new system with amd and had to start looking elsewhere for an os. Endeavour to the rescue. I have a ryzen 9900x and a 9070. Few issues early but superb so far.

  • Long time mint user ungraded to amd 9900x and 9070 so needed a newer kernel.

Tried mainline but did not work.

    Switched to endeavour os.

I do miss mint used it for years after ubuntu changed de.

A change once in a while is good.

  • Yep got it myself.
