  • All companies are going to track you one way or another. This is our reality. We can hope for no tracking laws, which will most likely never happen, or, never use technology, which is not an option for the most part.

Not a great place to be, imo.

  • Sad but true.

  • The letter opens with an admission by the collective of police chiefs that they’re unable to do their jobs unless tech companies do half the work for them.

I suppose previous generations of law enforcement that were able to do their jobs before all this does not count.

  • Thank you. This helped.

  • So any email address is not encrypted even if the message goes to another encrypted account? Is this correct?

  • Forgive my question, but if the email is encrypted and the service is unable to read it, how are they sure the accounts in question are criminal? How would they know any account was?

This is confusing to me so I am grateful for any insight.

  • In theory there should be an acceptable balance, somewhere. What this would look like I do not know.

  • Article quote "Mozilla will focus on bringing “trustworthy AI into Firefox.” To do so, it will bring together the teams that work on Pocket, Content and AI/Ml."

Does not scream privacy friendly, imo

  • Everytime I see this now, I always see the version from Doctor Who series 5 episode 10 "Vincent and the Doctor" with the monster in the window.

  • Would it be possible for Apple to just encrypt this data or, not keep this data? Then there would be nothing to give law enforcement or government. (Forgive my ignorance, I have no idea how all this works.)

  • Warm soft socks!
