The capitol building is a fine place for them to "protest" because 1) there is no one there except government employees 2) there really isn't anything in St Paul anyway so he can't really bother anyone if they take it outside. It's a great place to trick people into going to protest for those reasons. I think he just wants somewhere he can harass a few pliant government employees and get some clips for social media and not get run out of town on a rail.
Abolish ICE is a pretty mainstream liberal opinion, or at least it is now for the libs in e.g. the Twin Cities who have seen ICE goons doing all sorts of heinous shit over the last few weeks
You can touch both terminals of a car battery with one hand and nothing will happen. If you short both with jumper cables it will spark. Maybe if you connect both ends to one side of a door handle it will heat up, I guess it depends on the material in the door handle and how conductive it is?
People say it's not about the voltage, it's the amperage and stuff all the time. The current running through your body IS what damages it, but in truth both are related to each other - higher voltage means higher amperage. For it to be dangerous to a human being, you need high voltage. High amperage comes from high voltage and/or low resistance, and human flesh/organs etc have a high electrical resistance. Typically anything below 50VAC or 120VDC is considered safe for adults to touch under dry conditions (I think that's in an IEC standard somewhere)
Breakfast cereal is incredibly quick, basically no clean up, and gets you some carbs/fiber/water to get your day going. I sometimes eat the really unhealthy shit and I love it. I get out of bed on time to eat Reese's Puffs
I think BJJ is a great sport to get into if you're interested in self defense because unlike other martial arts e.g. karate sparring is a huge part of the instruction and it's available to you at all levels, even on your very first day. It gives you a practical understanding of grappling, which is a huge part of fighting, because it requires you to actually grapple. Of course there are many techniques in the sport that no longer work once your opponent is able to punch and kick you, but those principles of grappling still apply.
I think though that if you want to defend yourself more generally, you should learn to use and carry pepper spray or a firearm.
I don't know the first thing about what you're going through, but I've always found that whenever I felt that life was out of complexity, mystery, and beauty, I was dead wrong. May you enjoy your newfound health and find joy and peace soon
