It can be fine to just "talk it out, man", but that runs into the problem where my character on paper has CHA 20 but me in real life rocks a solid 10 CHA. Or the other case, where the fighter with 8 CHA has a salesguy for a player, and he punches well above his on-paper skills using his real life personality, where I'm sidelined.
There is another. I've found that being (imo) charasmatic, and being a charasmatic character, means DMs just talk to me, rather than ever asking for any rolls. Sure, my argument is convincing, but I still want to use my numbers!
Yeah, this is the way. It's better to let the other person do the translating, rather than presenting maybe your ideas by using a translator. It would be like running everything you post through an AI first. Best to give as much intent as possible
There were definitely some episodes of Voyager where I couldn't stand Neelix, but I know if I had been on Voyager, I would have loved him. His role as "morale officer" might be a bit similar to Naomi being Captain's assistant, but I think he actually does a very good job
Seriously! If I were the richest man in the world, I'd just fuck off quietly to my secret billionaire volcano, where I'd get fucked up on wine plundered from a sunken Spanish treasure galleon, and drugs you've never even heard of, for as long as I want, because literally nothing can affect you when you're that rich! Why would you invite so much mockery??
The title makes it sound like the judge put Data and the AI on the same side of the comparison. The judge was specifically saying that, unlike in the fictional Federation setting, where Data was proven to be alive, this AI is much more like the metaphorical toaster that characters like Data and Robert Picardo's Doctor on Voyager get compared to. It is not alive, it does not create, it is just a tool that follows instructions.
