  • It is. It also doesn’t work like it does in the movies so unless you’re looking for an industrial solvent or a bad high it’s not good for much.

  • It’s more of a barrier for people who are pirating media, not the ones consuming that pirated media.

  • Least it’s an improvement over no/low code. You can dig in and unfuck some ai code easily enough but god help you if your no code platform has a bug that only their support team can fix. Not to mention the vendor lock in and licensing costs that come with it.

  • It can identify the user and their hobbies, schedule, device, and all sorts of info depending on how careful the user is. Not too far of a leap to match it to a non vpn fingerprint with a known ip and location.

  • Are neo nazis not a subset of nazis? If not, how would you refer to the grouping of both ww2 German nazis and neo nazis who share many beliefs and symbols? I don’t see a good reason why that group can’t just be called nazis.

  • Did I miss it in the paper, or do they never really say how to find that scaling factor? Seems like there’s some magic number that theoretically exists for almost all rotations but no good way of finding it.

  • The article says it was a spark from static electricity.

  • I’m pretty sure Musk is struggling because the only way to make Grok consistently right wing is to lobotomize the model to a point where it becomes useless.

  • There are heat sensitive compounds in milk that break down during pasteurization. They’re important if you’re a baby cow. I don’t think it’s worth risking your life for though.

  • The writers for the show weren’t too concerned with scientific accuracy. It’s intentionally silly.

  • Sounds like he just put whole pills into the ice cream. Can’t imagine thinking someone would eat a pill like that without noticing. Then again, dude is clearly out of his mind so idk.

  • There are plenty of small open source projects. It’s also good experience just figuring out how to build from source and make some changes even if you never open a PR.

  • Open source projects are a great resource. My understanding of good software development practices skyrocketed after contributing to a couple.

  • I live in fear that someone in my house will connect the tv to the WiFi and an update will just absolutely fuck it up.

  • Same here and it’s worked well. I migrated my arr stack from another machine where it was in docker and just couldn’t see a reason to spend a bunch of time rebuilding it with LXCs.

  • I once watched my former dept head spend 15 minutes coaxing ChatGPT into writing SQL statements to copy a couple tables. He was thrilled about it. I wanted a meteor to instantly kill the both of us.

  • To be fair, nuclear power is cool as fuck and would reduce the carbon footprint of all sorts of bullshit.

  • It’s definitely really nice yacht territory but can’t afford the floating 100+ room compounds all the billionaires are buying.

  • Yeah there’s a big difference in code quality between using cursor as an aid to write code and vibe coding which would be asking it to write and debug large swathes of code with little human input. AI is very good at correctly writing a couple lines at a time. It quickly loses the plot when trying to write hundreds of lines or more and the human user has no idea what it’s doing anymore.
