  • I got got :(

  • God I hate the new version numbers since drops :/ Just keep 1.##.0 for feature updates and 1.00.# for bug fixes.

There's isn't a good way to tell between bigger updates and bug fixes anymore

  • I don't try to criticize people for pirating games. They're expensive and a lot are greedy.

What I do tell people though is support good games.

If you end up playing a pirated game you really enjoy, you should try to support it if you can, even if it's from one of the bigger publishers. It's basically our only way to truly tell a publisher that we like something and to keep making it.

Not counting un reasonably priced re-releases though. I totally get that (looking at you Nintendo for Galaxy 1+2)

  • Couldn't find it on mine :(

  • Do you have a link to the announcement? I can't find it online :(

  • Coolio, can we get the steam client to 64 bit as well?

  • I wasn't giving advice for pirating it. You're on your own for that if you can't afford the $7.00 to get a copy from the play store.

  • No issues using SMB with my Unraid and transferring to/from my main Fedora 42 KDE PC.

  • You might be able to do some symlink shenanigans for those specific system.

  • There's a launcher called "Minecraft Bedrock Launcher" that's been working fine for me.

  • I don't see why it wouldn't. ROMM stores them in the usual system/roms folder format. If you have any issues you can just setup some filters on sync thing. I would just test with one system first.

  • Sounds like you know what your doing. You do you chief I guess

  • If your budget is that tight, I would just say just repurpose your laptop, just take the battery out if it's not already.

  • I think the Aoostar R1 will be the simplest setup for you. The N100/N150 have pretty good idle power usage, and it supports 2 3.5HDDs and NVME.

  • I would just switch out the original sticks with hall effect replacements. It's not too difficult to replace them, just take it slow on your first one so you don't accidentally break anything.

  • If this was added after launch and actually added new content, yeah sure (maybe), but at launch? No thanks, I just won't buy your game at all.

  • ALVR is a thing for Quest (and maybe other?) headsets. I've been able to get it to "work", but it was a pain and would constantly have random issues.

I ended up just dual booting windows for VR.

  • As someone who games on Fedora as my main OS, we need to stop pretending that Linux gaming is all sunshine and rainbows.

Yes, fuck Windows, and it probably did fuck his boot loader, but it doesn't invalidate his other poor experiences he had with the OS.

Hell, I don't think that even that was necessarily an invalid experience just because it was caused by Windows. Dual booting is a thing people have to do, especially if they want to play the games that just don't work on Linux. Even if you don't like the games personally, they are huge and a lot of people want to play them. Even my main Linux group dual booted recently to play the BF6 beta.

Being elitist and calling people stupid because they had a bad experience will do nothing but hurt Linux gaming. Instead of calling JayzTwoCents stupid because he dual booted for a valid reason, explain alternatives that he could have done to prevent the issue. If we want to grow as a community, we need to provide actual helpful feedback, not by being toxic.
