Same here, it’s the reason why I kicked Ubuntu off my laptop. They removed any way to choose and made it such a pain to get around the Snap bullshit. I’m on Linux because I want to choose what I do with my system.

Launching hundreds of drones and missiles at civilian targets is not “being the better man”.
Ah yes, liberating a nation by establishing yet another radical theocratic dictatorship.
At least Ukraine is not doing it in the middle of winter, unlike Russia.
Hosting costs probably. Rolling back a patch is a rare scenario and Steam would have to host every version of every game in their store on their servers indefinitely.
Do you really want to chat about that with the distilled essence of a million redditors?
Russia is far from overpopulated, they have only twice as many people as France. This war will most likely destroy a number of small villages, where most of their force is drafted from.
Ironic that you are complaining about a lack of nuance with the most generalized and misinformed post I’ve seen in a minute. Also, this whole situation is completely unrelated to the government.
There are a number of legends surrounding the pirate Klaus Störtebeker, who was active in the 14th century. The most popular one is probably that when he and his crew were facing execution, he made a deal with the mayor of Hamburg that if he manages to walk past any of his fellow prisoners after his beheading, they’d be spared. His headless body supposedly walked past eleven pirates until the executioner made him stumble. The mayor did not keep his word and all 73 members of the crew were killed.
Organizations like Fridays for Future are funded by donations and part of the money goes towards protests and publicity. I assume they allocate some money to have these prominent people present.
36 tanks is a substantial amount for a single assault. It was also the largest one since the initial invasion.
These are aftermarket taillights.
The interesting bit is not that the Ladoga is an old vehicle, it’s how incredibly rare it is. It must have been pulled from deep storage or a museum somewhere.
The result was the Ladoga. Kirovsky produced just a handful of the tracked vehicles—perhaps four or five. One spent some time in the fallout zone around the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl following the plant’s deadly 1986 meltdown. Aside from another that landed in a museum, the Ladogas then … disappeared.
It speaks volumes to the state of their armed forces to be resupplied with such a vehicle.
I think the reality is that no one on Reddit gives a shit about Lemmy
I wouldn’t be so sure:
What are you on about? I remember reading the warning they put out before the attack. And so would you if you paid attention instead of living in fantasy land.
He’s the best example of someone falling upwards. He’s not much more than a cash cow for other people running the companies that he owns and their successes are not happening because of Musk, they are happening despite of him. It goes as far as SpaceX allegedly using “handlers” to keep him from interfering with the actual development. I’m pretty sure that you, as a mod of !mechanicadvice@lemmy.world, have more technical experience as the guy who claims to be the genius behind Tesla.
The reason that Musk is making these obviously dumb decisions at Twitter is because it’s 100% his toy to play with and there’s nobody else running the show for him. What we are seeing is essentially the unfiltered effect that he has on a business.
Nah, I don’t buy this story at all. Their car had Belarussian plates and that border is much closer and still open. I’d even argue that the UKR/RUS border is the worst place to cross with checkpoints, mines and drones everywhere. They would’ve been safer hiding out in a random village somewhere.
If you buy used, the manufacturer makes zero profit. It’s a pretty substantial difference ethically.
The Islamic State has plenty of reasons to hate Russia, such as their continued cooperation with the Assad government and Iran, the Chechen Wars, their military campaigns in Afghanistan… just to name a few. You don’t need to be “the worst foe” to be targeted by ISIS, as many of their attacks have shown.
How do they know that he was tortured to death if Israel hasn’t released the body or any information? There are a lot of claims being made in this article but I can’t find any sources to back them up.
