I ordered a pair of 5-80 lb. "nuobell" clones (make sure to get ones that adjust in 5 lb increments) through alibaba during covid and they are awesome, laid together they only take up about 1.5 sqft of space -- may be an option?
I have no idea what the context is, but there is simply no way it the alleged animal abuse happened. Once upon a time in the covid era, I watched his stream pretty often when it was essentially just getting off the ground. He had a dog named Fish, who he loved dearly, and unfortunately Fish died extremely suddenly and with no warning due to cancer. It felt like there was a change after this. Before, the streams seemed laid back, and like they actually ended. After Fish died, it was like he had started streaming all day, every day. To me, it seemed like he dove into the work to avoid having to confront Fish's death and having to process that emotion. Just my 2c. I do not think that someone like that is capable of violence against any animal, and especially not a dog.
I noticed recently that it seems Chris has been out and about a lot lately, even showing up on some twitch streams and whatnot. I feel like he used to be pretty content putting his work out there without as much active public appearance, though I could be wrong. Is something up? He sounding the end-of-empire alarm?
