  • I'd tried using it for python and it made up some fake library that does not exist to handle the complex task I was asking it do it. Utterly useless. The way it works is so complicated is simply has you fooled thinking it's more than a fancy auto complete, but it is literally exactly that. Just the "smartest" auto complete there is. Don't worry about it, at least you did not fall it love with it and then left your wife to be with ChatGPT, right?

  • Don't know why you are being downvoted. This is exactly it. If ChatGPT can find you a solution, then that solution is already out there and it just stole it from some human. That is fundamentally how ChatGPT works, the damn thing can't think.

  • Massively subsidized and where do you put all the nuclear waste? Nuclear energy is dumb even without thinking about possible disasters. You are just falling for grifters who don't want us to use renewable sources of energy. And before you say it: no, nuclear energy is not green.   • I got an iPad and those are pretty great. A lot of great (paid) apps that work extremely well on tablets. That's the benefit of having to develop for only so many devices, I guess. Now I don't use it much these days, but I am definitely gonna try out sideloading. It's probably gonna take some time to have anything to sideload tho.

  • I am gonna guess they have their own ad setup. So they collect the data, setup profiles and whatnot. Then an advertiser can come and pay to use their system for targeted ads. Now does that count as "selling your data"? Not technically I guess. Google does exactly the same thing tho, right? I fail to see how they differ in any way. I suppose you can HOPE that apple cares about its reputation enough to handle your data carefully, but that is about it. Hopes and prayers.

  • So? Companies can and have removed features like that at the behest of some dickwad in power. Don't take anything for granted. We need to heavily regulate them. Or hell take games. Capcom is currently adding DRM to 12+year old games. Garbage like that should be forbidden by law instead of relying on shitstorms to get companies to comply.

  • Imagine devices you can actually repair yourself. I looked into switching the battery on my phone the other day and in the process it seems I could very easily break my display if I am not SUPER careful. It's literally easier to swap the display than the battery.

  • Well, it's because there can always be a power outtage or they have to shutdown the water mains or in my country more likely a flood. All of those are agazillion times more likely than a war, but still reason enough to at least have some supplies.
