  • I know in many ways this is an attempt to brainwash folks into ultranationalism, however I also believe its more so an attempt at a "gotchya" that doesn't work anymore.

    I remember when they started forcing us in highschool to do the pledge every day, and anyone who opposed it was being chastised as an anti-American and "ungrateful to the brave soldiers who fought for our 'right' to pledge".
