  • Just in case someone decides to heed this terrible advice..

    1. Diagnoses are needed to get relevant professional help. Discouraging that is unhelpful.
    2. There is literally something different in the brain of someone with a neurodivergent condition.
    3. "There's nothing wrong with you" is incredibly triggering for a lot of neurodivergent people.
    4. I agree that societal attitudes are part of the problem, but that's little solace to someone who's struggling because there's often little choice in whether or not they carry on by masking.
    5. 'Neurodivergent' may be a temporary term but it's the best umbrella term we have right now. Denying that is basically erasure.
