  • I don't know where you are getting the idea that he purposefully generates controversies. He lost subs during most of his controversies, not gained. And it has down stream negative impacts on his channel other than just sub count.

    He is just very careless.

  • I kind of mildly disliked them. I thought they were too sweet and thought the texture was kind of unpleasant. I was usually able to just scarf them down anyway if I was hungry enough.

TBH, my feelings on them have only evolved to mildly enjoy them.

  • Lightly edited copy paste of my response elsewhere:

Creation’s are not that of only the individual creator, they come from a common progress, culture, and history. When individual creator’s copyright their works and their works become a major part of common culture they slice up culture for themselves, dictating how it may be used against the wishes of the masses. Desiring this makes them unworthy of having any cultural control IMO. They become just as much of an authoritarian as a lord, landlord, or capitalist.

In fact, I’d go so far as to say that copyright also harms individual creators once culture has been carved up: Producing brand new stories inevitably are in some way derivative of previous existing works so because they are locked out of the existing IP unless they sign a deal with the devil they’re usually doomed to failure due to no ability to have a grip on cultural relevance.

Now, desiring the ability to make a living being an individual creator? That’s completely reasonable. Copyright is not the solution however.

  • "Thing is, land ownership also served a purpose before lord's/landlord's/capitalists decided to expand it to the point of controlling and dictating the lives of serfs/renters/workers. "

  • I suspect your assessment is at best subconsciously biased and at worst in bad faith. You'll need to elaborate on the mechanism of how they'd "keep copyright as restrictive as possible" in a world where it is not possible to copyright AI generated works.

  • We deserve this.

  • I hope generative AI obliterates copyright. I hope that its destruction is so thorough that we either forget it ever existed or we talk about it in disgust as something that only existed in stupider times.

  • Them being read up on political theory and history wouldn't have done jack shit.

  • I'm autistic, I think its likely true for most people (including autistic people) that they could feasibly learn to become very good at one specific thing given sufficient practice, regardless of their starting point. BUT:

Its not capability in the strictest sense that is the privilege. Its money, time, and having intrinsic pleasure from the activity.

Someone who hates playing the piano could still 100% reach the same abilities of someone who loves playing the piano. They just don't because they don't get any intrinsic enjoyment out of it. So the person who is wired to get intrinsic joy out of the activity also gains the extrinsic benefits of eventually becoming very good at piano and the benefits that come with that.

Not everyone gets intrinsic joy from activities that have extrinsic rewards once you get very good at them. I really enjoy video games and debate, and I'd say I'm very good at both. But almost no one gives a fuck and my extrinsic reward for being good at those things is basically nothing.

IDK about other neurological frameworks however.

  • I feel split on that. My hatred is kind of for both groups. Democratic consultants, Biden, Harris, and DNC leadership in general I hate with a severe intensity for this failure, but also "Both sides bad" people and leftist non-voters I also hate with the same severe intensity. I hope they get exactly what they did not vote for.

The only Dem politician involved in this fiasco I don't hate is Walz. Just some significant disappointment.

  • You'll end up contributing more funding to Trump's government that way. I'd consider just taking a 3-4 year vacation in Canada instead.

  • Wait, you aren't serious... I read your post history lol. You need a /s

  • I say this as someone who loathes Musk, its not a big deal that this exploded.

But the success or failures of the program should also not be meaningfully attributed to Musk anyway. He owns the company but hes not an engineer.

  • I wish there were more new sci-fi RPGs of that quality.

I do hear CP2077 is good now and I keep meaning to play it.

TBH I'll probably end up enjoying Starfield once I get around to trying it as well.

  • This is too weak and virtue oriented.

That said, I guess its better than nothing. Focusing on promoting alternatives however would probably be a little more effective. Amazon has a lot of weird niche products that I've struggled to find else where from trust-able sellers.

  • Its not. What is your will "free" from?

  • Look, I don't believe in free will. I don't think wanting others to suffer for being "bad" is a rational mentality. (I agree with Robert Sapolsky) But I'm also not a rational being, I'm human and my emotions tell me "Fuck these assholes" and I'm tired of trying to be above it all. Especially, after this recent election. And at this point I can't help but be indifferent to their suffering at best.

I'm just going to avoid them like the plague. I owe them nothing and I can't waste my life trying to bring horses to water when I know they wont drink. Or swimming up a political waterfall by trying to organize them.

  • I'm sorry, through some unfortunate events, I currently live in redneck land. There are some decent people here but they are a minority and usually people who are young/born there or too poor to escape (me).

The vast majority of people here choose to live in the middle of nowhere however and it shows. They're paranoid, stupid, delusional, prejudiced, etc. Every time I've tried friendly conversations with them at various watering holes, they end up disliking me for bullshit prejudicial reasons. They literally tell me that I'm showing off by using big words or say I'm a weakling faggot or whatever else.

I commute into a small city for work for a pretty humdrum low paying office job and the people here are a million fucking times nicer and smarter and just as "working class" as the rural chuds.

  • I'd vote for him but he'd need to ignore the consultants next time if he wants any hope of winning.
