  • https://www.computer.org/csdl/proceedings-article/hicss/2012/06149194/12OmNyKJiDq doesn't support my claim since on the aggregate level it's reduced and on individual level it remains the same. But to not be too biased (by my own claim), thought it was worthwhile to post it. They do say here that it only reduced malicious comments by 0.9% (so it didn't increase). Here it says it doesn't help. This article says discrimination increases, but I can't find the original source. They say real names are better then full anonimity, but worse then pseudonimity.

But searching for the right study, I can't seem to find it. Only news articles claiming it, but that's not much of a study. So maybe I shouldn't have said it increases, but it doesn't decrease (depending on which study and which aggregate level you look at). A lot of articles point at facebook where people need to use their real name but still post a lot of unfriendly stuff.

  • There have been a few studies that say scams, discrimination, racism and bullying will increase when people are forced to use their real name. In this case it's probably because off a different reason, but still.

  • This is the only app I've never changed in the last decade (or for how long they have existed). Sometimes I see something new come by and I wonder if I need to switch, but Todoist just works for me. All others (notetaking, calendar, browser, etc.) have changed multiple times, but this one is steady. Also just the right amount of updates and changes.

  • A max vehicle tonnage won't work since you need to exempt trucks and delivery vans (or change a couple of things drastically). So you could say that when something is used for work/delivery they are exempt and all others have a max tonnage. But since these guys buy and register it as a work vehicle, they will not be hit by the max tonnage.

  • Why does he look like he is shitting and crying at the same time?

  • Had the same feelings going to a Taylor Swift concert with my grilfriend as a middle age man. Turns out, nobody paid attention to me because they where to busy screaming their lungs out and filming the show. Yeah, I could be a background stander in someone's video, but they definitely would be the main character, not me. Everybody was there to have a good time and enjoy the artists and other people's outfit. Don't worry, you'll do fine. Especially if you also like the music, that will be a connection. And usually the crowd for these artists will make you forget being uncomfortable and you start dancing and singing yourself a bit. Because if you see people crying, screaming, moving as if they are epilleptic but actually are dancing, you are less bothered with how you yourself look. Only regret I had was that I didn't get to experience the whole living up to the concert feeling, just because of the anxiety.

  • Lol, where Russia used to be the one using proxywars to fight the west. It's now fighting said proxy war. So much for big old Putin's new strong sovjet union.

  • Pre-ordering is dead, live paid alpha testing is booming. There are so many games in development (alpha or beta testing) which can be bought. And as soon as the game is in the ballpark of "finished" it get's the v1.0 mark. And way before that, there are already DLC's available for an unfinished game.

  • There is an option to select the available film simulations in Capture One. But that needs to be done manually I believe. But if it's automatically applied on import if you also shoot JPEG, that's great. I must say that I thought the RAW's looked really good and was happy with myself that I selected the right exposure to make them look good. Turns out software helped me out again 😅

  • Aah ok, so it's a bit like @ZkhqrD5o@lemmy.world said, that there is edit info in the RAW file. Capture One does have the standard presets available which I can select in camera, so CO definitly has some kind of agreement with Fuji.

  • I've never known this. This is a very good point. It would be nice if they did this because that would be a great starting point to make further edits on the RAW file.

  • I've loaded them in Capture One.

  • Photography @lemmy.world

    Fujifilm JPEG vs RAW

  • Me too, it's so absurd.

  • "shower freedom", this has to be a late april fools right? RIGHT?!

  • my gosh, they've read to many "alpha male 101" books. Trump can't handle Musk's hand on top (because that's dominant for these people) so he needs to put another one on top. Oh your such grown-ups, playing all nice together. Good job, now finish your sprouts.

  • Thanks, that's good to know. Going to update it right away, hopefully this will solve my problem.

  • That looks nice. Added it to my list to look at. Thanks.

  • You've got a good point with Home Assistant. I have automations setup so that I barely have to do anything manually. So I almoat forget that Home Assistant runs quite a lot in my home. And especially in the beginning it was nice to setup but not really needed. Know it is needed.

  • I didn't know if this was something I was missing, but man this could be my new number 1. The import function is really great. I've already added a lot of recipes. Thanks!
