  • This exactly.

I'm not sad about his death because he was an objectively harmful person, but I do feel pretty bad that this is how it happened.

A civil war is only going to hurt the US more, but it sure looks like they're headed that way based on the online reactions I've been seeing over the past few years.

  • huh, neat.

I can see that being a draw for enough people to own both

  • What makes this better than the Analogue Pocket?

  • It's a lot more complicated than that. Their stance is "Pro-genocide, as long as it's profitable and far enough away that I don't have to see it.

Actually, I guess it's not that complicated after all.

  • You're right, and I don't want to criticize, but most museums do actually have rules banning photography.

  • It's technically homebrew, but basically every table Ive played at will give you a little bonus if you roll a 20 for a check and a little negative if you roll a 1. But we still kept that a 20 does not necessarily mean an auto success and a 1 is not necessarily an auto failure. You still need to beat the DC

  • More than half of these people are over 30. None are younger than 25.

All of the founding fathers save for Adams and Washington were younger than this when the declaration of independence was signed.

  • What's the over/under that Arkansas farmers actually learn from this and stop voting Republican?

  • personal taste aside, Hollow Knight did everything that a metroidvania should do design-wise, and added enough new things to the formula that basically every single game in the genre that has come out since 2017 has taken some inspiration from it.

People are psyched to play more in that universe, with the characters they grew to like, while also being excited to see what new innovations they bring this time.

  • Absolutely get into audiobooks and podcasts.

If you have a list of books you've been meaning to read, chances are they're all available as an audiobook. From the podcast side of things, there is so much content out there that even if you did nothing but listen to them 24x7, you would never run out.

Personally, I tend to really like narrative fiction(basically modern radio plays) and rewatch style shows(the hosts go through a piece of media and talk about it beat by beat).

  • I mean, Diogenes was a raving, unwashed, often naked, homeless man that lived in a big jar in the market eating scraps and drinking from puddles. Not really in the same class of people as the other philosophers.

His whole deal was that luxury was unnecessary for a fulfilling life and chose to abandon it all to prove it.

  • Regarding Kubuntu, I don't like snaps and don't want to have to worry about disabling them after every major update

Regarding Fedora, I really like aptitude and don't want to give it up

  • I just want a KDE variant without having to manually install it

  • Worked out to yearly prices from the weekly cost, they are:

    7*52 = $362

    0.5*52 = $26

    Or $29

  • This game is wildly underrated and probably would be better remembered if it didn't come out in 1998

  • Practically? Basically none at all.

If someone got physical access to your phone, they could install another OS without your knowledge.

  • The Japanese reads:

Watashi wa kyuuka ga hotsui DEATH

Which does mean "I am a cucumber", but they replaced the "desu" with "DEATH".

  • Vegas used to be a pretty cheap destination for a vacation that saw a ton of profit from the sheer amount of people that funneled there.

It used to be that you would sometimes get buffet and drinks comped if you spent enough time gambling, and that incentive would keep you in that casino continuing to gamble instead of going to a different place. The cost of a buffet meal and a couple highballs was a small price to pay to keep someone at the tables for another couple hours.

Now(within the last 15 years), Vegas is leaning away from being the worldwide gambling destination and leaning more into fine dining and live shows. This has changed the entire economy there and everything is crazy expensive if you're anywhere near the strip.

This is all to say nothing about the drop in tourism in general because you might just get assaulted when you enter the country by some twat from ICE if your skin is darker than a hotel towel.
