  • I can follow you on most of your comment here. But the quality of Lego bricks is far superior to any of their competitors. Find me any other plastic toy that was made 40 years ago and functions exactly as well today as it did then. Their bricks are rigorously tested and extremely consistent. And that quality does cost money.

  • Took me way too long to figure out why Murdoch didn't get a face swap.

  • "In Theory" he comes in saying "Honey, I'm home!" No problem. Because Data can speak contractions. His language processing just has a hard time with them. But he can absolutely say the words.

  • Nah you're not wrong. I thought it was GoldenBoy too.

  • Industrial strength furniture that can withstand decades of abuse is not cheap.

  • Hide glue is amazing stuff! Smells a bit, but works super well for furniture builds when you want extra time to get everything clamped up and square and settled.

  • Tell me more about Mango library subscriptions? How would one determine?

  • That's not helpful...

  • Checkmate athiests Catholics.

  • My sincere hope is that the Catholic Church looks at how they were perceived under Benedict—a staunchly conservative Pope that led to massive losses in respect, attendance, and relevance; and how they were perceived under Francis—an actually compassionate and humble servant of the Church and its people. And based on that, they choose another Pope who's in the same vein as Francis to continue bringing the Church into this century. There is still decades of work to be done, but we absolutely can't go backwards right now.

  • Depends on where you are in California I guess. I see more Rivians here than Cybertrucks.

  • So what are you doing then?

  • Not defending Mike Johnson here, but there's supposed to be more to it than just the days in session. About 140 in session days, which allows other days to read and research what you're legislating on. And then the lengthy recesses are so congressmen can be home to work with and listen to their constituents.

Whether or not it happens like that is a mystery, I guess.

  • When you notice a cat in profound meditation, the reason I tell you is always the same. His mind is engaged in a rapt concentration of the thought, of the thought of his name.

  • A crowd here and there of 35,000 isn't nearly enough. It needs to be crowds of hundreds of thousands in hundreds of places at once. And the only way you get there is a massive increase in faith that the elected Democrats will actually do something. This performance (because I will concede that it's just a performance) is exactly the kind of act that increases that faith.

  • He's doing this for the exact same reason Bernie and AOC are - to generate headlines and display that people by and large are not okay with what the Trump administration is doing. There is nothing actually actionable from the rallies (or very, very little). And sadly at the moment there's very little that can be done to actually stop Trump's plans. It's important therefore that Democrats continue to passionately, loyalty, and most importantly eye-catchingly continue to protest however they can.
