  • I wanted to get into IT (primarily computer networking), but I unfortunately could not deal with the customer service aspect and all the corporate bullshit that came with being in the field. Plus, it's nigh impossible to get a job in the field now, even after getting a certificate and "doing my time" working at a call center (hate that shit.)

  • What I like:

    • Being in a smaller community of friendly like-minded people.

    What I dislike:

    • The constant reminders people post that the world is on fire and that there is not a fucking thing I can do about it. Lemmy (or at least the instance I'm in) does not seem to have any obvious filtering features. I end up needing to take a break sometimes.

Edit: Getting ahead of it before anyone says anything, I think it is important to post about current world events, and I outright encourage it. I simply just don't have the greatest headspace and can only take so much of it.

  • I have used CachyOS and I can confirm that it is decent. I might give Bazzite a try next though.

  • I've been using Boost for Lemmy. While it is unfortunately only available in the Google Play store, it still has served me pretty well. I had previously used a different version of Boost back when it supported Reddit, but uhhh, we all know how that went. (Fuck Spez)

  • Stuck a housekey into an electrical outlet to pretend I was driving a car. Not sure how I didn't die, honestly.

  • I would probably sooner (insert any obscene idiom here) than use the official reddit app, but your work is still commendable.

  • For a couple years at least, it sucked. It felt lonely in retrospect because most of the other students in the class were nonverbal. Any attempt to socialize with the teachers just lead to them telling me to "mind my own business". The teachers were also just assholes in general.

  • Lung butter

  • I am disgusted that such a person would share the same name as me.

  • The rest of the Berserk manga into anime. I've always wanted a continuation of the 1997 series. The 2016 one was..... Eehhhhhh...

  • Not really. At this point, you're having to pick between two surveillance states.

  • I don't know about rich, but my household would be much more well off had my biological mother not been a mentally unstable gold-digging asshole.

  • I use OpenBoard and I do not believe I have it set to save anything for predictive text.

  • Women are a few years and a few years and a few years and a few years and a few years and a few years and a few years...

  • Sauerkraut

  • Nice, I finally have someone to block.

  • First OS for me would be Windows XP.

First Linux I've tried using could technically be whatever version of Android was on my mom's Droid phone.

First desktop Linux would be some version of Ubuntu around 2014-2015

  • I mean, yeah.

  • Florida. Need I say more?
